First Bow and Arrow technology in Europe 55,000 Years ago...but the bow/arrow doesn't seem to have been in the Americas until much more recently, maybe 8000 years ago (based on small-size arrowheads). Why?

You would expect big-game hunters to have taken the bow with them across Siberia/Beringia. Is this evidence that the First Peoples in the Americas were maritime? (although the Bow is also used for fishing)..

Interesting, the distance between West Africa and South America is less than 2000 miles, while the distance from Norway to Canada is over 2200 miles, and the distance from Peru to Easter Island is over 2500 miles. We have archaeological and genetic proof that the Vikings sailed to North America and Polynesians sailed from Easter Island to Peru. So why couldn't a culture such as the Phoenicians, who may have circumnavigated Africa and travelled as far as the Canary Islands and Britain, have sailed to the Americas, along with some Egyptians, say 3000 years ago?

NEW study found a Ghost Population (UPopA) that originated around Baja 8,700 years ago, mixed with Mesoamericans in Mexico and then travelled south along the coast and inland rivers to the Amazon... they must have been travelling by sea due to their rapid spread and sea levels had risen fast around that time, suggesting they were displaced from Baja region. This group had Austronesia ancestry as well.
