Hi Everybody! This time I am heading into the woods to reacquaint myself with an old love of mine: Bushcraft! Seeing and using the possibilities nature has to offer feels empowering and gives a valuable sense of self reliance. Peace and quiet, being by yourself for a few days is always welcome. Roaming silently through the trees, relaxing and honing crafts around the campfire is one of my favourite things to do. For those who are wondering, I had permission to be here in this woodland practicing these skills.

While things have changed quite a bit this year being stationary, adventure is still calling me to go out. Back on the bike, away from the internet and immersed in nature, just the way I like it. One of the most beautiful stretches I have ridden in my home country, with lots of off-road and fantastic forest and other natural scenery 🏕 I was lucky to be warned about a serious thunderstorm rolling in. Still it presented quite the challenge to stay safe…

We have a special episode we would like to share! Recently Maudi has been to Portugal to reacquaint herself with an old passion.

Solo hiking is an endeavour where all decisions come down to the individual and with that comes a great sense of self reliance and personal accomplishment at the end of the journey 🏕 Going on foot makes for an adventure even more in tune with your surroundings than by bike but is also more demanding on the body.

After having spent many years together on adventures, this time alone in the outdoors is valuable in so many ways. A healthy and joyous challenge that has room for reflection and possible growth.

Will we go at it alone from now on…? No way! Together is even better in our experience but everybody needs some time by themselves to explore this fascinating life!

It is something special to be out in the woods all by yourself. Absorbing the atmosphere and winding down from the hassles of life. Winter is slowly coming to an end but evenings can still be cold. It is somewhat of a different format than usual. A quiet vlog which I hope emphasises the tranquility of the experience. It was a fun experiment and a new way of approaching video making which I enjoyed quite a bit! I am very curious what you think? Do you like this style of video, what could be better, should I make more, other suggestions? Let me know down below 🙌🏼

🚲 Through The Sahara | Caught in a Sand Storm 🐪

As we go deeper into the Sahara, the weather keeps on switching moods. The wind picks up and a gloomy haze starts to engulf us. We ride on an unbelievably rocky track that saps our energy like nothing before. The landscape is magnificent though and we find a breathtaking campsite under the wide open sky. The going keeps on being tough and we are confronted with an important choice! The beautiful and clear afternoon suddenly changes on a dime when a fast moving wall of sand approaches…

🚲 Short on Water | Bikepacking the Moroccan Desert 🌵

Morocco is getting drier by the mile as we descent into a vast gold mining area. A dusty off road track leads us through breathtaking landscapes that could be mistaken for another world. Camping here is magical with specially adapted goats who are able profit from the hostile vegetation. When our water gets low we have a chance encounter with a motorbike expedition. Some animated conversation follows and they replenish our liquid needs in the most refreshing of ways. After this beautiful but exhausting stretch we land in the town of Tata. We take some well deserved rest days before heading out even deeper into the desert...

🚲 Bikepacking Through Morocco’s Most Amazing Canyon 🌴

After a few days of well deserved rest we start our approach towards the Sahara Desert. We ride through the most amazing canyon we have ever seen. Palm tree groves, picturesque villages, friendly locals and steep dramatic cliffs set the stage for a unique experience. When night falls we find a one of a kind camp location that turns out to be somewhat dangerous. The next morning we are invited by a local man to explore an ancient village. We walk through the crumbling maze of alleyways and get a fascinating glimpse into how his ancestors lived in this area. The road continues, becoming sparser with every mile…

🚲 ’Not Welcome' Bikepacking the Moroccan Anti Atlas 🏕
We have a lovely start in the Anti Atlas Mountains but suddenly it turns into quite the ordeal! We get visited by the authorities and at every attempt to find a camp spot we get sent away. Finally we get escorted to a hostel which turns out to be another failure... A rough night follows and we wake up drained! Luckily the next days are much better with some beautiful places to pitch the tent, fantastic scenery and great people to accompany us on our Moroccan Odyssey to the deep south...
