"Herps In Fine" ~ Herp sine fine (see-neh fee-neh)
Herp: reptile/amphibian, from Greek root "herpet-" creeping thing
"sine fine": without end/endlessly (Latin)
My name is Jake! I'm from Utah, U.S.A. (currently based in PA).
This is my channel for posting herping adventures in an educational context...specifically an evolutionary one!
"Herp" is an endearing bucket term for reptiles and amphibians. The name comes from 'herpetology', which is the formal name for the scientific study of these creatures. So then "herping" is the action of going out to find and appreciate these animals in their natural habitat! I want to share with you the things I've learned about herps, and the things that herps teach me. Maybe you'll learn something too! 🦎🐢🐍
