I speak from experience when I say, "RELAXERS ARE DAMAGING YOUR HAIR!" It's a slow rot, the only question being when it'll manifest.
Are you going to wait until it's too late, or are you going to take the first step and just STOP USING RELAXERS NOW!?

It's pretty simple from there.❤️
In fact, tell me - What's holding you back?

I've successfully carried my hair in these threads for one week post washday, only having to moisturize once in between (even though it should be 3 times already😬).

The point is that I'm learning to be intentional about giving my hair rest, and I think I like it - I get to rest too.

The most underrated plant for hair (especially Type 4 Hair) care has got to be Aloe Vera. Its benefits are simply not talked about enough.

I started using Aloe Vera in 2019. Then, I had one plant that produced a couple others. Unfortunately, I didn't know as much as I now do, so I literally let my plants die.

It's 2026, and there's so much information online about how to care for your natural hair, but if I had to give you one hair advice, it'll be: incorporate Aloe Vera into your hair care routine.

And if you have high porosity hair like I do, it's a no-brainer for hydration/moisture.

You're welcome 🤗

If you've decided that 2026 is the year you go natural, I have something for you.

I started a series where I'll be talking you through thejourneyy of transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair.

I made the decision to stop using relaxers after 7 years, so I know this period can be hard. All I had in 2018 was a coconut head and the will to see the transition period through, but you don't have to do it alone. I'll offer all the encouraging and tips I can to help make the journey even just a little easier for you. Shall we begin?

A not very fun fact about my type 4 hair is that the hair at the front of my head appears to be much shorter [and with tighter coils] than the hair at my nape.

I find this both interesting and frustrating at the same time! Can anyone relate?

Any tips on how to make my 'front hair' grow at the same pace as my 'back hair?'

What does your unmoisturized afro look like post wash?

It's washday o'clock, yayyy💃

But I hate that I only get to see my hair once every two weeks; wash, and then it's back in a protective style.
Im still trying to find a balance because I mean... it would be nice to wear my out more often.

Is this weird, or does anyone else share these sentiments?

Just to remind you that your natural hair is beautiful, irrespective of the stage it's at.

PS: Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the most confident with their hair out like this?
