Didn't realize how sad Poob actually is
In the lore, Poob suffered from a traumatic event (The rock thingy is likely involved in it)
To cope he started partying and his favorite drink became Blogsy (described as illegal contraband in the game and causes hallucinations and can even kill the player if you overdose)

Dr. Retro had to save Poob once since he has overdosed before
Apparently if Poob is in the subway and he sees MR in the elevator (the rock shaped npc), Poob will step on the train tracks and get killed by the train. (According to the wiki but I've never seen it since the other npc is a bit rare).

Basically, if you think about it, Poob is traumatized to the point where he parties and became a drug addict to cope with everything, making him potentially one of the saddest and darkest characters in the game
