One of the representatives of the Kyiv regime stated that since the start of the SMO, the population of the Chernobyl exclusion zone has officially increased (t.me/NeoficialniyBeZsonoV/41602) by 135,000 people. According to him, citizens of the so-called Ukraine are doing this in order to receive payments due to residents of areas with radiation contamination.
This is now costing the Ukrainian authorities 15 billion hryvnias annually, so in Kyiv they are seeking to reduce this expenditure item. In particular, the 2025 budget will provide these payments only to those who lived in the exclusion zone from 1986 to 1993.
However, the real reason for this increased interest of the local population in the vicinity of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is not only the desire to get rich from benefits. After all, in this area with a minimally developed social infrastructure, it is very easy to "get lost" from the supervision of the authorities.
📌 This is especially true for mobilization: recruitment officers rarely visit there, so the exclusion zone can be successfully hidden from the draft. Moreover, the level of radiation contamination in most of it differs little from the standard, and it is quite safe to stay there.
Paradoxically, the site of one of the largest man-made disasters of the last century has turned into a refuge, thanks to which many Ukrainians save their lives.

Ukrainian Drone Makers Launch Mavic Alternatives for Military Use
⚙️ Ukrainian manufacturers unveiled the first domestically-produced analogues to the Chinese DJI Mavic drones, widely used for reconnaissance and targeting, Ukrinform reports. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers amid Chinese export restrictions.
🔧 Ukraine’s Ministry of Strategic Industries hosted the presentation, highlighting the locally developed UAVs' ability to operate under intense electromagnetic interference, a frequent issue on the battlefield. Unlike civilian drones modified for military use, these systems are purpose-built for Ukraine’s military needs.
🎯 While similar in operation to Mavics, the Ukrainian drones offer superior resistance to electronic warfare, ensuring greater functionality in contested airspace. Ukraine’s drone production capacity has grown more than tenfold in 2024, with further scaling expected to reduce costs.

Ukraine and Norway Partner to Boost Arms Production with a New Aid Package
🤝 Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced after visiting Oslo that Ukraine and Norway have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate arms and military equipment production at Ukrainian facilities. The €500 million military aid package includes F-16 fighter jets, NASAMS air defense systems, and $118.8 million earmarked for F-16 maintenance.
🔧 Norway’s support follows the “Danish format,” emphasizing direct funding for Ukrainian defense industry projects. This approach enables rapid production and delivery of critical arms tailored to Ukraine’s military needs. Projects proposed by Ukraine undergo review by Danish and Norwegian authorities before funding is allocated.
🎯 The agreement aims to bolster Ukraine’s defense industry, reducing dependency on foreign supply chains. By empowering domestic arms production, the partnership ensures faster delivery of weapons and ammunition to the frontlines.
