A new place to slow down.

New surroundings, a new garden, new routines and many things yet to discover.
The house is called Eden.
A rather grand name for a little home, perhaps…
But standing here, looking at the garden and the nature around us, I can understand why they chose it.

Slow life by the lake

A few of you have asked what I used to paint the old sofa in my latest film.

I used egg oil tempera, a traditional paint made from linseed oil, egg, water and natural pigments.

I’ve used it on many of the walls here as well. It’s a beautiful, durable and environmentally friendly paint, and I love the natural finish it gives.

The yellow woodwork I painted in the film was done with traditional linseed oil paint.

Something a little different is coming tomorrow.

After these years of letting the pictures and natural sounds tell the story, I’m stepping a little further into the picture this time.

It feels a little strange — and honestly, a little nerve-racking.
But some chapters call for something different.

Things have been a little quieter here than usual.

Life is changing, and I’ve been spending more time away from the camera than behind it.
A new film is slowly taking shape, and I hope to share it with you in a week or two.

In Sweden, today is the day for semla.

Long ago, it was a final sweet moment before fasting.Now it’s simply something many of us look forward to in late winter.
A delicious treat while I continue working on the next film. 😊

A quiet winter day by the lake.
The sauna is frozen into the ice.
The contrast between seasons is something I never get tired of.

I hope you enjoyed the recent snow film.

Yesterday I spent the day by the sea, filming in a steel-grey landscape. It was a truly beautiful day.

With a bit of time, I hope it will turn into a film of its own — a slightly different one, leaving the lake behind and heading out to the sea instead.
