Hello guys! Just wanted to give you an update on some pretty cool projects which I'm working on right now in case anyone cares. I've been taking a break from all social media to build, and to read more books, so that's been good.
Project #1, we are building a business that will connect software devs with agencies. Agencies are great because they're somewhere between freelancing and a full time company, and and the agency economy has remained strong even with Big Tech layoffs.
Agencies don't usually have a full time recruiter, and can be hard to find for job seekers, so I think it's a good problem to solve.
Project #2 I've been working to build several Shopify apps that will eventually combine into an "app portfolio". I am really still "all in" on ecomm because even with AI innovations, ecom is definitely not going anywhere.
Rather than thinking I can build my own platform from scratch and competing with Shopify (not sure I'm smart enough, or want that stress) I think there is still so much that can be inside of the ecosystem to help small businesses, and make some good profit too.
Project #3, of course we are still running Freemote, and at this point we have such a solid team, I finally get time to build new projects.
We almost managed to keep our 5/5 review on Trustpilot after hundreds of reviews, but not quite because one person was upset I mentioned Elon Musk as a positive example of working hard. To be fair I made it before all this Twitter controversy, but still, I won't apologize for that.
Anyway, I hope to catch up with you guys soon, maybe I will do a vlog version with a more detailed update sometime in the near future!
Those videos were a ton of work and weren't getting so many views unfortunately, in fact I was losing subs each upload and wanted to keep the channel a bit more cohesive with my style of videos.
We didn't "fail" in fact it's just taking a lot longer than expected to get things market-ready -- My business partner is still pushing it forward primarily at this point in time. The development process isn't glamorous when you get to the later stages either
For me, Freemote has the primary focus still and I'm still giving strategic input on HeyHi.
If you were in the minority that did enjoy the series, thanks for the support :)
Hey guys, I've lived in Ukraine for 1 year now, which is crazy. We also created the fastest growing code bootcamp on planet earth this year. In short, I'm gonna be doing a Q&A video soon, you can ask me literally anything you want. Just submit your question through my instagram story here: instagram.com/aaronjack (@aaronjack) and I'll answer the best ones. Cheers.
The heavily requested "Web Scrape Anything With JavaScript" course is out πππ javascriptwebscraping.com/ Here's what it includes:
β 6 not-boring scraping projects β 40+ video tutorials β Essential JS libraries like Puppeteer, Cheerio, Node Fetch β Google sheets API as a database β Deploying & scheduling scraping code to auto-run And a lot more!
And I just tweeted about how much I made on a 500k video. twitter.com/_aaronjackI'm tweeting a LOT more these days -- code tips, updates on my startup, mindset, etc -- follow pls (;
I liked the name code drip but changed it for a few reasons
- was being called "code drip" like it's my name lmao - just didn't wanna be stuck with it forever
BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE at the end of the day "code" is just a tool. software / tech is about way more: building systems, creativity and being able to build dumb projects just to see who swears the most on youtube, just cause you feel like it π (example a: the video i released today)
Hey guys! In case you missed it I just released a little promo for my new course "Interview Espresso" -- it's a one of a kind algorithms course in 2 versions: js and python. Been working super hard on this, check it out here :) interviewespresso.com/
The goal for the end of the year was 100k. We need a new goal. Weirdly, learning to make videos has felt the same as learning to code, Just trying to get 1% better every day. The growth mindset π

I've got bad news and good news -- bad first:
My news show "io" is, well, a flop.
Oh well... You have to take risks sometimes.
The good: That means tutorials are coming back.
Web scraping, automation, and using AI in projects.
Also working on an app I think could be big..
Career-related. More on that soon

"CODE DRIP" is now "AARON JACK" -- Here's why:
I liked the name code drip but changed it for a few reasons
- was being called "code drip" like it's my name lmao
- just didn't wanna be stuck with it forever
BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE at the end of the day "code" is just a tool. software / tech is about way more: building systems, creativity and being able to build dumb projects just to see who swears the most on youtube, just cause you feel like it π (example a: the video i released today)
