“This song was inspired by a news story. Normally the news does not inspire such things. But this one did… She was about eighty years old. Her smile, her eyes, and her engaging demeanor belied the personal loss and atrocities all around her. Her house was one of the few that survived the bombing of Kiev. Her husband did not. She was showing a BBC camera crew different parts of the house. When they got to the living room, she pointed out their antique wind-up record player. This is where her and her husband would dance, she said to the crew in her gentle voice. She then made this beautiful gesture with her arms and closed her eyes as if she were in someone’s arms. She was. She was still dancing with her husband. Happy Valentine’s Day, everybody.” - RM

Here it is, folks! 🐍 Very proud to present the official music video for ‘Solitary Blues’, the first single from my upcoming solo instrumental record ‘Say Less’ 🤫 Shot, produced, and directed by Alejandro Menéndez Vega 🎬

For this video, Alejandro had this idea of shooting striking, compelling images throughout (as we played) while simultaneously a glam, strange photo shoot was taking place. The actresses took turns playing all the different roles and at times we didn’t know who was who, adding a surreal element to the entire day. That sort of “surprise” factor will hopefully keep you entranced the whole way through! 🪄
