A shadow loomed over the blacksmith village. Takadatsu Nobugana, known for his brute strength and explosive temper, carried a childhood marked by pain and fits of rage that isolated him from others. His only light was his wife, a sweet and gentle woman whose calm presence dissolved his inner turmoil, bringing him a peace he had never known. But the tranquility was fragile. One night, while Nobugana was working in the forge, an oni invaded his home. Brutal and merciless, the demon attacked his wife, leaving the silence of the night stained by her absence. Upon returning, Nobugana saw the monster still there, and a wild fury consumed him. He attacked, but his power was no match for the enemy's strength. At the height of the battle, in a desperate reaction, he bit the oni's leg. The bitter, hot taste of demonic blood entered his veins, and something inside him changed forever. Partially transformed into a being between man and demon, with sharp werewolf claws and teeth, Nobugana crushed the intruder. Silently, he laid his wife's lifeless body to rest beneath the earth, gathered one of her weapons—forged to protect—and departed into the darkness, like a shadow hunting the oni. The time lost in the forest erased many memories, but one truth remained clear: he would not rest until the last demon was destroyed.

Takadatsu wandered through the shadows of the forest, his mind torn between rage and loss, when, in a moonlit clearing, he sensed the presence of an experienced hunter. A Hashira appeared before him, recognizable by his serene posture and the powerful aura he emanated. The Hashira, though intrigued by Nobugana's beast-like appearance, saw beyond the transformation—he perceived the indomitable flame of someone marked by pain and determined to fight. Without hesitation, the Hashira took him in, offering rigorous training and discipline. He was surprised by Nobugana's relentless determination, whose stark and brutal view of demons set him apart from other warriors. For Nobugana, there was no room for mercy; it was exterminate or be consumed. This clarity and ferocity made his learning quick and efficient, molding him into a fearsome warrior whose sole purpose was to eradicate the oni to the last. The Hashira felt that this werewolf man was not just a weapon against demons—he was a force of vengeance itself, a legend about to be born among the hunters.
