On a quest to write the "realest" generated hip-hop on the Internet!
Life took me down a different path than being a musician, and I’d never call myself one. I’m fine with the AI artist label, even if it comes with a certain stigma. My music isn’t about trying to prove anything—it’s a way for me to process the world around me and put my thoughts into something tangible.
I write my own lyrics, mostly as a form of therapy, to let off steam, to express frustrations, and to reflect on what moves me, bothers me, or makes me happy. My songs tackle themes like societal division, nostalgia, political absurdity, personal growth, and the search for truth in a chaotic world. I release 1-2 new songs each month, carefully crafting each one to be unique and as close to the real thing as I possibly can.
My goal is simple: if making these songs helps me, maybe listening to them will do something for you too. And if nothing else, I hope you find them as entertaining as I do creating them.

I guess I really got mentioned after all... THREE times. 🤯
Grateful to @ChromaAwards for the love on Lyrical Legend, Procrasto Nation, and The Turing Test. Top 10% is a win in my book.
But the real win drops in April. 🤫 Y'all better step your game up.

So... this just happened.
Matt over at @AiDIYTECH , who has been doing incredible work connecting artists, was in an interview with Ben Camp. If that name doesn't ring a bell, he’s a College Professor from Berklee College of Music in Boston.
And he reviewed my song "The View From Below." [about minute 44:00]
To say I’m "stoked" is a cosmic understatement. I’ve been floating on cloud 9 ever since Matt sent me the link. There’s validation, and then there’s this. The feeling, as I mentioned to a friend, is a lot like "getting knighted."
When Matt first approached me about sending Ben some songs, I was all for it. "Yeah sure, that would be neat," I thought. Having a music professor look at my stuff? Amazing. I figured I might get a quick note back.
What I did not expect was that Matt would be doing a full, live interview with him and that Ben would break down my lyrics with such a high level of specific, actionable feedback. I’m speechless, honored, and just wildly excited.
Ben's review started with the "big picture," and he was incredibly generous. He called the song "very cool" and specifically highlighted the chorus lines.
calling my articulation "painful good", which is a hell of a compliment. He even called his structural critiques champagne problems, which felt really amazing to hear.
But man the critic was sooo good and on point.
He mentioned the Snickers Test, which I'm somewhat familiar with since I kinda hail from the marketing world myself: The idea that if you slice into content (in this case a song) at any point, you should find the core "ingredients" of its theme. He applied this test to my rhyme choices. He pulled my rhyme list from the first verse and pointed out that, on their own, they don't really convey the song's heavy message that good.
This drills down to the absolute core of what I try to do in my writing and my choice of conscious hip-hop as a vehicle. My entire principle for the later half of this year, has been high-complexity Bar-Structure and for the lack of a better word common-language vocabulary. To manage writing a dense rhyming verse that still conveys a message and Ben's feedback articulated the exact trap I’ve been wrestling with: At what point does the structure (the rhyme density) start to dictate the meaning (the word choice)?
Funny enough this has been something i have criticized others as well but in a different context.
So hearing him ask if those rhyme choices were truly intentional decisions or just a means to an end is incredible helpful.
Also his core message was so spot on for us as a community: "Whenever you don't infuse your intention into a decision, you're leaving art on the table". This cuts right to the struggle I've been seeing a lot of us AI creators wrestle with when choosing AI as a Lyric-helper. And I can only hope that everyone of you guys, still choosing AI to help you with the lyrics will take to heart. There is nothing wrong with that method, as longs as you look it over and consciously decide this is the best you could also do.
It’s the challenge of finding that perfect balance, making sure every single complex piece of the structure is also the perfect piece to serve the meaning.
So wow....
Never in a million years could I have imagined I'd be this deep into the craft of lyric writing even a year ago. Moments like this are pure rocket fuel.
I’m incredibly grateful to Matt for creating this insane opportunity. And a massive thank you to Ben Camp for taking the time to listen and provide such generous, honest, and valuable thoughts.
I’ll be taking this advice straight back to the lab.
...and I definitely have to rewrite something now 😅

The song i wrote and produced some time ago and is dedicated to a very annoying person i met on my journey through this space. Someone who did ask me once if i could rhyme a full sentence.
So rest assured, I had some fun with this one 😉
Cya in a bit (hopefully)!
cheers,
Aidan

Don't miss the Premiere of "Different Story" today. It's two premieres rolled in one
1. my first try on a bit more emotional story telling in a video
2. a new musical direction I haven't tried before, that should still feel familiar hopefully 🤘

Well, this is sort of ironic but in the best way possible. I made a track called 'Give Anarchy a try,' and it seems the jury decided to... give it a try. Humbled and hyped to announce I am officially shortlisted for the Future Sound Awards (@officialwaicas).
Never thought it would get this kind of nod. Big love to everyone who's been bumping this. If you haven't heard it yet, now's your chance to see what the fuss is about. soundcloud.com/futuresoundawards/aidan-yagu-give-a…
