YOGA AND HANDSTANDS
Can you learn a handstand by doing yoga? The answer is yes, but I couldn’t help but notice that yoga people usually make three mistakes when it comes to handstand development.
✅ They don’t use a wall.
✅ They don’t know how to safely fall and/or use the wrong technique to do that, which is to say they go into a backbend.
✅ They don’t know the correct alignment and activations.
Beware that with this I’m not saying that all yoga people are bad and all teachers fucked. Sometimes the classes are just too crowded, or there’s not enough space, or the teacher him or herself doesn’t know what the correct technique is.
Either case, you want to make sure not to fall into these mistakes and practice correctly to get your freestanding handstand.
