NEWS: Godzilla vs Kong Sequel has an official synopsis:

“This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”

Rebecca Hall, Kaylie Hottle, and Bryan Tyree Henry are set to return as well.

There has been speculation that the untitled sequel to Godzilla vs Kong will be a Kong solo movie. TOHO has announced the film will also feature Godzilla.

The next Monsterverse film is set to release on March 14, 2024. This film is set after the events of GvK.

“Meanwhile the next Godzilla-Kong sequel from Legendary has been dated for March 15, 2024. Warners previously had the date on hold, but for an untitled DC movie. Godzilla vs. Kong filmmaker Adam Wingard returns to direct. Parent, Alex Garcia, Eric McLeod, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing. Godzilla vs. King, also released under the studio’s day-and-date pandemic model, rallied movie theaters back over the Easter 2021 holiday with a $31.6M opening and $100.9M domestic, $470M WW gross.

Godzilla-Kong sequel will also have Imax screens on its release date.”

Godzilla vs Kong sequel confirmed for Queensland in $119m filming coup

In a $120 million boost for Queensland’s film industry, Legendary Entertainment has confirmed a Godzilla vs Kong sequel will be filmed on the Gold Coast.

“The mega-monsters are heading back to Queensland with the sequel to blockbuster Godzilla vs Kong becoming the latest filming coup for the state.”

“A live-action “Godzilla” spinoff TV series is coming to Apple TV+.

According to Apple’s description, the untitled series appears to take place after the events of 2014’s “Godzilla,” which kicked off the current iteration of Legendary’s “Monsterverse.” That film was followed by “Kong: Skull Island,” “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” and last year’s crossover film, “Godzilla vs. Kong.”


The new project has a series order from Apple.

Here is the logline: “Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the series explores one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.”

The untitled series will be produced by Legendary Television and executive produced by co-creators Chris Black, who will also serve as showrunner, and “Hawkeye” writer Matt Fraction. Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell and Toho Co. Ltd will also executive produce. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita will executive produce for Toho.

Toho is the owner of the Godzilla character and has licensed the rights to Legendary for this series as a natural byproduct of their long-term relationship on the film franchise.

All of the prior films were distributed by Warner Bros. and are available on rival streaming service HBO Max. “Godzilla vs Kong” was among the films that Warner Bros. released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max.

The films have grossed more than $2 billion at the box office globally. Along with those movies, Netflix has anime series “Skull Island” upcoming.
