No One is Truly Ours
Lost in the crowd, yet standing alone,
I searched every face, but no one was my own.
Conversations were plenty, but none truly heard,
I tested each bond, but no one was my word.
With time, people kept changing their way,
Those once close, now drifted far away.
I began speaking to my shadow in the end,
Realizing, no one is truly a friend.
In the race of life, I gained all I could,
But that emptiness, I never understood.
Bonds are made, but break somewhere unseen,
In this journey, no one is truly ours, it seems.
