Dear philosophy friends,

Earlier this year, my partner’s mum Beryl died, after several years of suffering from Alzheimer’s. This month, I’m raising money for UK Alzheimer’s Society. On 24 September, I’m doing the ‘Bristol Memory Walk’, together with family & friends. (That's us in the Goofy picture!) Dementia research gets relatively little funding, but it’s something that will affect lots of us later in life. And there’s been hints of breakthroughs recently, with new kinds of medicine under trial. So I’m hopeful that donations to dementia research will have a tangible effect within the next decade.
