For the past eighteen months, a small team of engineers at VRS has been operating in a restricted area of our lab. We called it Project Boreas. While the rest of the world was focused on smoother force feedback and higher peak torques, we were asking a different question: Why should sim racing feel limited by electricity alone?

We wanted to capture the raw, aggressive surge of a real GT3 car or a tuned drift machine when the driver hits that “Go” button. After dozens of prototypes and countless hours of secret testing with pro drivers, we’ve successfully digitized the sensation of a 100 shot of nitrous oxide.

The VRS Nitro Boost System isn’t just a cosmetic add-on. It is a pneumatic-digital hybrid interface. When you flip the “ARM” safety cover and press the tactile “BOOST” button, the system sends an instant, high-frequency signal to the wheelbase. This overrides the standard torque curves to provide a momentary 25% surge in force feedback resistance and rotational speed, simulating the violent acceleration of a nitro-injected engine.

To ensure the highest level of precision and safety for your hardware, this initial launch is optimized exclusively for the VRS DirectForce Pro ecosystem. Our proprietary “Air-Link” cables provide the low-latency connection required to sync the boost with your in-game telemetry.

However, we know the community is eager to feel this power. We are already in the final stages of developing firmware patches that will allow the Nitro Boost to interface with other major wheelbase brands through a universal USB-C bridge.

We’ve kept this under wraps for so long because we wanted the hardware to look and feel like a professional piece of motorsport equipment. From the carbon-weave housing to the industrial-grade “ARM” switch, every detail is designed for immersion.
