I fly a lot - mostly for work and often with a camera in hand. So here you'll find a range of flight reviews - mainly business class but also first class if I can manage a points upgrade or get a really good deal.
To me a good airline - especially in business - should have: friendly engaging staff who understand the needs to business travelers, comfortable seats, lie flat beds, a good selection of meals and a nice single malt whiskey on the wine list. The seats, like hotel rooms, should be practical when it comes to controls, storage and work space.
You'll also find a selection of other random travel experiences as I explore and experience this wonderful planet.

Many of you will have noticed I haven't posted for a while so here's a quick update from me. First the good news, my next flight review will be posted this evening Australian time. It will feature Lufthansa's new business class on a flight from Tokyo to Munich.
The reason I haven't been uploading is that mid-February my father-in-law was sadly diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. At times like these family comes first and everything else is put on hold. Including my channel. As a result I also had to pull out of the Av-Con event in Atlanta this weekend. I had so much wanted to go but had to be here. I am grateful for the fact that the charity Av-Con is supporting is funding cancer research. Thank you for all those attending and helping to raise funds. I really appreciate it and hope you have a wonderful day.
Unfortunately my father-in-law passed away and on Thursday we gave him the best send off we could. It was a time of reflection and celebrating a life well lived. Rest in Peace GT.

Flight Reviews Are Back!
My summer break is over and in 4 hours my first flight review of 2026 goes live. This one features the long journey from Frankfurt to Melbourne Australia via Ho Chi Minh City with Vietnam Airlines. Two legs, two different aircraft, the same seat design but vastly different comfort levels. Given the disruption to Qatar Airway's operations this morning due to closure of their airspace here's a video I did last year on their Global Integrated Operations Centre. This is the epicenter of Qatar's entire operations and from where they are managing the current upheavals. It's an incredible operation.
