Hello Dosto,
There’s a lot of discussion around E20. Many owners say that some E20-compatible cars (post-2023) show a slight drop in mileage and performance, and pre-2020 models are seeing higher maintenance.
What’s your experience? Have you faced issues like lower mileage, weaker pick-up, cold starts, pump/injector/rubber-part problems, or a check-engine light?
Please comment with:
Car model/variant & year
Total running (km)
Fuel used (E10/E20) & city
The issue you faced / any fix you tried
Lastly, do you feel this policy is truly in our interest? I’ll include your feedback in the next video/post.

Back in 2018-2019, big media houses and select influencers were invited to test-drive new car launches. Regular people had to trust those reviews, but we knew the public wasn’t getting the real information they needed. So, we came up with "Ownership Reviews/Experiences" to show what car buyers actually think, the pros and cons after using the car, and honest reports. With this goal, we worked hard, reached out to people, and created this series, which everyone loved. Many car owners came forward back then, and we saw a clear difference between media reviews and real owner feedback.
After COVID, this became a trend. It was easy for influencers to copy since the owners did the talking. Even people with no car knowledge started YouTube channels just for ownership reviews. Many creators jumped in without a clear purpose, and over time, it became so common that it lost its value. Still, we kept going.
But now, it’s disheartening to hear that some creators are making fake ownership reviews for brands. They arrange a car from the brand, put a fake "owner" in front of it, and film. Some influencers get brands to provide lists of owners and then contact them. Others even bother owners through dealerships right after delivery. Two years ago, someone from PR asked me, "Do you hire owners or are they real?" I proudly showed them your email requests and shut them down. Auto brands are now using ownership reviews to create positive buzz for their cars.
We’re proud that our channel has always shown real owners, and we’ll keep it that way. You’ll always get honest information.
We need your support: if you ever feel like sharing your car experience—good or bad—through our DDS channel, please reach out on ravi@thedds.in without any hesitation. If we can cover new launches quickly, it’ll help potential buyers a lot. They can know the real story before spending lakhs of rupees. Also, we want to know: do ownership reviews still feel relevant to you? Or should we create long-term reports on cars instead? Please share your thoughts. Our goal is the same as it was back then because we respect the valuable time you give to our audience.

Let me share the tank-to-tank mileage figures of the Jimny throughout my entire 2800 km journey:
-Tank-to-tank mileage on highways: approximately 14.8 kmpl
-Tank-to-tank mileage in the city: around 11 kmpl
-Tank-to-tank mileage in hilly terrain: about 9.5 kmpl
On highways, you can cover approximately 500 km on one tank until reaching reserve, maintaining a speed of 90-95 kmph.
City mileage depends largely on traffic conditions. In the NCR's conditions, a full tank can cover between 380 to 410 km until reaching reserve.
An interesting point to note is regarding hills – you'll adore this car. On a full tank, it can cover approximately 320 to 350 km. However, you may find the tank seemingly small in this vehicle.
The tank capacity is specified as 40 liters by Maruti, but to auto cut-off, you can fill around 33 to 34 liters (not counting Reserve) of petrol. Additionally, it can store around 6 liters of petrol in reserve.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS of TVS X Short Drive at HOSUR Plant.
Price - 2.49 Lakhs Ex.Showroom
1. Futuristic features: 10.25-inch TFT display, gaming, live video streaming, NavPro navigation, and Smart Xhield features.
2. Powertrain: 4.44 kWh Battery, 7kW electric motor, 11kW power, 40 Nm torque, 105 kmph top speed, and 0-40 kmph in 2.6 seconds.
3. First-in-segment: Single-channel ABS system enhancing safety.
4. Mixed riding experience: Good handling but stiff ride, screen visibility issues, and incomplete feel.
5. Pre-production issues: Display lags, stand-by mode glitches, caution in recommending until refinement.
Riding Experience and Performance Assessment :-
During the test ride, it became evident that while the scooter has exceptional handling and braking, the overall product might not be fully matured. The ride quality leans toward the stiffer side, affecting comfort, and screen visibility becomes a bit challenging in direct sunlight when using a helmet. The performance, given its high price point, might not entirely meet the expectations.
The claimed range of 140 km wasn’t validated during the test, and some of the features provided might seem excessive for everyday use, leading to a feeling that the scooter might offer more than what the rider actually needs. Furthermore, the pre-production model encountered issues like random stand-by mode activation and display lags, reflecting a potential lack of refinement and finish in the product.
Conclusion :-
Hence, at this stage, it becomes challenging to wholeheartedly recommend the TVS X Electric Scooter. There is a need for more time to observe how the final product fares and whether these issues are addressed. The display lag, unfinished impression, and issues encountered during the test drive might impact the customer's confidence.
