Do British people realize that a UK bill involving a major structural transfer of sovereignty is on the verge of receiving Royal Assent?

The Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction Bill is the UK’s domestic law to implement a new UN treaty under UNCLOS covering oceans outside any country’s borders (the “high seas”).
👉This Bill is not primarily about conservation. It is about how the UK binds itself to an international governance system, and how decisions made OUTSIDE Parliament become enforceable inside the UK.

‼️Why this matters beyond the oceans‼️
This Bill sets a template:
• UN body sets policy
• UK ministers implement via regulation
• Parliament retroactively approves or is bypassed
• Data flows upward to international systems
That same model can be reused for:
• Climate
• Digital data
• Health surveillance
• AI and biotechnology
• Natural resource governance

👉Parliament is agreeing now to follow decisions that haven’t been made yet. Those decisions will be made by a UN committee, not UK voters.

🚨The biggest threat to UK citizens is the loss of democratic control. UK ministers will turn those decisions into law using regulations. Brits will have ZERO say. This legislation changes who gets to make rules. Essentially outsourcing sovereignty to the UN.

The Bill requires genetic and biological data to be:
• Registered
• Logged
• Stored in approved repositories
• Made publicly accessible
• Reported on (who accessed it, how often, where it went)
THE MAJOR THREAT
Some of that data can be passed to a UN-linked clearinghouse. Once data leaves national control, UK citizens no longer control how standards evolve, how access expands, or how future disclosures are required.

👉On the surface, most people will never collect marine samples or run a genetics lab. But this law still matters, because it sets a precedent and allows for expansion. Today it’s marine genetics. Tomorrow it could be other biological or environmental datasets.
VERY SNEAKY

Once the UK signs on:
• Decisions made by the UN COP trigger UK regulatory changes
• The UK Secretary of State must implement COP decisions
• Parliament does not renegotiate or re-approve each change.
This includes:
• New marine protected areas
• Emergency restrictions
• New fees or benefit-sharing payments
• Enforcement rules
• Data-sharing requirements

🚨In short: future UK obligations are decided internationally, not domestically!

Enforcement powers are expanded.
UK citizens and entities can face civil penalties, criminal charges, vessel detention, or prosecution in UK courts, even for actions carried out beyond UK waters, if they fail to comply with rules that originate internationally by the UN.

This bill is flying under the radar, just like what these sneaky bastards did with the Online Safety Bill.
