🍔Hello! Thanks for visiting Jersey Jeff Eats! My name is Jeff and I like to visit all kinds of food places including restaurants, fast food joints, diners, food trucks, grocery stores ... if it has to do with food and it's in New Jersey, I'm there! While the videos do have a review or my personal opinion on something, the channel is more about stories, locations and personal stuff but don't worry ... it always ends with food!
I enjoy hearing about new food items like a new sandwich at a fast food joint or a new snack at the corner grocery store. If it's new, I'm going to try it out for you guys, let you know what I think and have fun along the way!

Today, September 7th, we raise a glass to one of the oldest—and still one of the most popular—beverages in the world. Whether you're a crisp lager person, a hoppy IPA fanatic, prefer a smooth ale, or like something dark and rich, today is your day! 🍻
And beer lovers certainly have plenty to choose from. The United States has thousands of breweries, from neighborhood microbreweries and brewpubs to larger regional operations. One of my favorite things about the craft beer explosion is that almost everywhere you travel, there's a local beer waiting to be discovered.
So how should you celebrate National Beer Lovers Day? Grab a beer with some friends, visit a favorite local watering hole, or—better yet—check out a local brewery you've never tried before. Order a flight, sample a few different styles, and maybe discover a new favorite. 🍺🍺🍺

🧇 HAPPY NATIONAL WAFFLE DAY! 🧇
Today, August 24, is National Waffle Day — and really, do we need a better excuse to pile on the butter, syrup, fruit, whipped cream… or maybe even some fried chicken? 😋
Here’s a fun bit of history: National Waffle Day falls on August 24 because New Yorker Cornelius Swartwout patented an early waffle iron in the United States on this date in 1869! His hinged design helped make waffle-making much easier.
But waffles go back MUCH further. Versions can be traced all the way to Ancient Greece, while the waffles we recognize today evolved largely from European traditions, particularly in Belgium and France.
And here's another New York connection! 🗽 The Belgian waffle exploded in popularity at the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair in Queens. Originally promoted as a “Brussels waffle,” it became a much bigger hit when sellers started calling it a Belgian waffle. Crispy outside, light and fluffy inside, and topped with strawberries and whipped cream — what's not to love?

🍽️ 3 Things Chefs Say They NEVER Order at Restaurants!
You might be surprised by a few of these! According to professional chefs, there are three common menu items they tend to avoid:
🍗 Grilled Chicken Breast – Usually a safe, basic choice that chefs say isn't very exciting when you're paying to dine out.
🧀 Mac & Cheese – Often made ahead, sometimes using pre-made cheese sauce, and can be a high-profit item with a pretty hefty markup.
📋 The Daily Special – Here's the controversial one! Some chefs say specials can occasionally be a way for kitchens to use up extra ingredients rather than showcase their freshest dishes.
So what SHOULD you order? Chefs recommend asking, “What is this restaurant known for?” and trying the signature dishes the kitchen is proud of.
