LowSpecGamer is a channel dedicated to exploring the stories and context and how the current gaming world came to be via high quality, narrative focused videos.
Next video is going to be REALLY GOOD. I went a bit crazy and it grew into a much bigger project that I intended, but it is one of the most interesting stories in low spec technology.
We are nearly there. We are on the final polishing phase of the video 🙏
Production is already underway of the next two Lore videos, on "The world´s first Low Spec CPU" and "The untold origins of the Virtual Boy". But as I gear up to start research on the next one I want your input.
Currently in the process of working the 4 new videos (one about the " thumby", one on the Nintendo DS, the ZX Spectrum and the Virtual Boy). Do you have any particular gaming hardware you would like to see the story of in LowSpecLore? Let' s talk!
Also working on a more general update to explain in more detail why I am burned out of the old style hardware/games videos 😅 I am really glad for those of you who are sticking with me with this new phase of the channel and I am happy to bring you all along with the ride.
THANK YOU for your tremendously supportive comments on this new series everyone. Your feedback is giving me the energy to keep trying to make better and better videos.
Given that this series was born of my attempts to explore how in the history of video games accessible hardware, lower cost and clever design are more important than expensive powerful hardware, someone in discord proposed the name "LowSpecLore". It is growing on me, so I will probably start incorporation it in future videos.
Some people have commented that they would like to see the extra content through Patreon, so if you want to support LowSpecLore directly and get the extra videos I will post it there as well: www.patreon.com/lowspecgamer
Next on LowSpecLore is the Game Boy Color, Famicom and ZX Spectrum.
Next on regular LowSpecHardware I will be exploring the smallest low spec handheld in the word, as well as the Steam Deck when I finally get mine.
I am on the 3rd attempt at writing a script analyzing the Steam Deck announcement (because I only want to publish videos I am satisfied with). It might take me a couple of weeks for this to be at a level of depth I like for uploading. Should I keep at it? Or abandon it and move on to the next video?
Valve just announced their Handheld, and almost every point I made on my analysis seems to have been on the money. Valve is making an affordable PC Handheld on their own OS to make an ecosystem play. Amazing.
If you want to know how in the world Valve is getting to Switch-like prices watch this video!
According to several charts, GTA 5 was the most sold game for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and the second most sold game on Xbox One (Halo 5 is first).
It is also top 3 seller every year on Steam since it came out.
I fully expect for it also to be the top selling game this generation as well.
For those of you who continue to play and buy GTA 5: What is it about this game that keeps you in? Why, in your opinion, is the game always so popular?
Surprise! I am going to start streaming again (and try to make it a more regular thing). This Sunday at 6 PM CET. I am going to be playing Valheim to test things for a video. See you on the weekend!

Remember that this series is possible thanks to Nebula and extra companion videos I am posting there: nebula.app/videos/lowspecgamer-the-very-weird-stor…
