I enjoy producing Let's Plays of obscure stuff or whatever I'm really in the mood for, looking after my nutrition, and staying in shape. You'll find all of this on the channel.
Rough start to September: I got food poisoning on Tuesday, surge protector exploded in my room (very fortunately, didn't destroy the modem), currently experiencing power issues in the house, and the dev commentary video underperformed and it's making me question, "What does everyone have that I don't? How are most of the recent videos reaching 100 views while my dev commentary video still stands at 30 views?" Even The New PhuCat Show Show hasn't been performing as well — It's really bizarre. Just now however, I do feel better after receiving some responses from very talented game developers I've been acquainted with for a while and telling me to keep it up because they believe I have what it takes. I'm also remembering that this IS the internet in the year 2025: short-formed content is the norm to grow now (EXTREMELY unfortunately), everyone wants to see everything suffer, and there are other game developers who are kinda in the same position. Maybe, people don't like video games anymore unless it's mainstream stuff like Fortnite or already popular horror franchises. To everyone who wants to go back to the 'good old days', supporting small game developers is an essential component; similar to supporting your local mom and pop shops. I thought I'd say this because I've been getting comments where people thought I quit, being a Let's Player isn't a phase. I truly support and want to do all I can to help game developers gain attraction even if it's not as impactful anymore because TikTok dances or something are evidentially more important.
Anyway, my battery backup hasn't made any obnoxious beep sounds in a while, so maybe I can continue recording Mind Control? May have to wait until everyone in the house is asleep, so there isn't excessive use of power. I still have playthroughs of Dinner with Archibald, Happy Daze, and the final EA Skate video that I have yet to post, but ya know hahaha no one ain't done gun watch them.
Another thing that has brightened my mood is this very amazing red chili flake chicken noodle soup and I think it's the perfect recipe for the spooky season weather coming up. I think I shall bestow the small audience of The New PhuCat Show with such a recipe. If you're new to The New PhuCat Show, it's a vlog series of my personal life mixed with hiking, playing Pokémon GO, cooking, behind the scenes stuff, game development, and throwbacks to older irl vlogs when I was in high school or when I was in my 20s and whatever. I may have to re-edit the entire series because I did a poor job at finalizing the ideas and edits.
Anyway, I'm gonna take a shower and chow down on some more of that chicken noodle soup. Thank you for reading this and maybe cared?
Announcements before my internet possibly goes out again, been having issues recently:
- Prepare to hear me scream for the first time in theaters. If you’re an active viewer, then you know I’m no screamer. However, I kept it as real as I could for the Night Shift movie.
- Currently working on a birthday gorl update for A Date with Syra. A little less than two weeks isn’t a lot of time, so it’ll have to be short. Don’t usually set deadlines because it’s asking for a disaster, but Syra is a September baby, so I have to finish it by September.
- Can’t post anymore Mind Control until the game is out on the 25th. Haven’t recorded anything since the last video because my sleep schedule is really screwed up, but I’ll get back on it over the weekend if I can balance between Let’s Plays and game dev.
- I still have one final EA Skate video, but the last video still hasn’t hit 10 likes, so it may stay on my hard drive for an eternity until then.
I think that’s it. Fyi, short-formed content does bring in more subscribers and views to a YouTube channel if you’re wondering how to grow. I refuse to make short-formed content because I hate a lot (maybe most) of the people that watch them and I feel dumb recording vertical content; the very thing I’ve made fun of in the past. How did we end up here in 2025? The world is ending if some maniac creates a vertical flatscreen television.
Is everyone good? Just want to know if everyone is doing okay. It's been ultra quiet all over social media recently as if I was secretly banned despite posting at least once a week on all platforms. It also doesn't hurt to provide kindness; that's very rare on the internet these days, everyone wants to pursue domination and feel like they're better and smarter than others. Makes me sad that no one ever leaves responses for me anymore because they see me as an a-hole. The internet is full of a-holes and things to trigger a negative response, I just want everyone to have good and positive day, There's already enough struggles in life, there's no reason to exacerbate it.
I don't have much to update on, my projects have been slow except for my webcomics and I haven't felt like going out unless it's cloudy (which it never is) because I got heat exhaustion and sunburn the last time I was out.
Puppet Combo movie is only a few months away. Maybe it's the struggle talk and I hope I eat my words, but I'm not confident that it will get me anywhere regarding my internet presence. We all know based on the low engagement on this channel and lack of supporters that everyone is vastly cooler than I will ever be. I predict that the scream queen, night shift abductor, stranger, and all the famous YouTubers will have a very positive impact from this movie; all of them are such amazing and kind people. You can check their socials here.
I'd like to have an episode of The New PhuCat Show for this month (like usual), but I'm on the fence about posting the latest episode about my other channel 'The BlackVeil Tapes' because I look silly talking in front of the camera about my VHS tapes collection for five minutes, so I trying to think of a different episode idea until I'm satisfied about how to manage the TBVT episode. I also need to be careful with what I post and how I title them too because this series evidently offends this day and age of viewers without even trying? I'd go into detail, but then I'd lose an extra 20 subscribers.
I FINALLY hit the stupid $100 threshold on YouTube! My only channel member, Muzamil, is a huge reason for making it happen; absolute best guy for being the only person to still have faith in what I do. I was gonna use that money to buy a skate deck, but miraculously, there was an insane sale at Ollie's and I got away with a good stack of skate decks for less than $30. Unfortunately, there's almost nothing left because someone came in and bought almost all of the skate stock...That said, YouTube money may go towards trying out merch and/or maybe a lavalier mic since mine fell and broke. I haven't bought merch in a while because I never have enough, so I'm excited!
But yeah, it's been a struggle here on the internet. I'm aware that these platforms bring in the attention, but I won't succumb to TikTok and YouTube Shorts, I still detest portrait mode videos; only exception are quick tutorials. I'm all for watching landscape videos on a computer monitor or a television. Isn't that weird? Going from CRT televisions to flatscreen televisions to now most people moving over to phone screens? Convenience is a wacko drug.
Hi all, I'm PhuCat and not Katz. It's been a a few weeks since the last update/announcement post.
- I decided to make the Puppet Combo episode for The New PhuCat Show to be a mix of behind the scenes irl vlogging and documentary-style interview commentary where I'm sitting somewhere talking in front of the camera. I want the episode to be at least an hour long because it's supposed to be a special episode and I'd like to go into a little more depth about my experience.
- The next episode of The New PhuCat Show will cover why I started my no commentary VHS-style gaming channel, The Blackveil Tapes. I'm not certain I'll make episodes about these, but I had the idea of rewinding back to 2005 because I do still have access to my very first YouTube channel that I made back at that time and an episode idea about my webcomics.
- Yeah, I started a webcomic series, but it's currently private because I'm sure it's too offensive in today's world; today's youngsters can't handle what we had in the 90s and 2000s. I have a couple of Misadventures of Mina comics from three years back; didn't stick to it for long because it used to take 4 hours out of my day to make just one comic. I don't know if this new webcomic series will be any different, but I'm not making it my main work. I'm trying to do it all from Let's Plays to game development to webcomics to even cartoon animations. I have some old cartoon animations from 2011-2012, but I'm having a hard time locating them. I still have these animated videos that I almost forgot about haha.
- Unrelated to the channel, but my brother-in-law, niece, and nephew came back from their Vietnam/Japan trip and they got me this cool master ball with candies that have Paldea Pokémon on them! I hate airports and flying, but I wouldn't hesitate to go on them again if I had the opportunity to visit Hawaii, South Korea, and Japan. But yeah, I'm big about Pokémon, so I was hyped about the souvenir! Maybe I should start a new Pokémon GO account because I've already hit level 50 on my main and have almost every Pokémon available in GO; it would give me an excuse to go on big hiking trips and catch legendary or mythical Pokémon again.
It seems like a pretty busy weekend, National Skate Day is tomorrow (June 21st), there's a Pokémon party event in my town at the new game store, and a Pokémon GO community day on Sunday. Dammmnnn, I don't think I can attend all of it and I'm sore from my workouts and hitting the new nature trail several hours ago, but I really want to skate and film for that irl vlog movie project for The New PhuCat Show.
That last photo is my first time making Salisbury Steak. It was kind of a pain to make, but it tasted so good! I didn't entirely use the best ingredients because I couldn't find healthy options for corn starch and great value bread crumbs, and I'm poor as all hell anyway. I can afford the necessities, but no leisurely stuff. People barely watch my videos, so it's taking a long ass time for me to reach that $100 threshold—I'm only $10 away, but making 10 to 25 cents a day on this garbage excuse of a website. I genuinely would cry if I could make $100 a month on YouTube again. I hope everyone who's growing and still has their audience knows how good they have it.
Greetings and salutations, team. I've decided that because I haven't been uploading, how about I re-upload some old members content for everyone to watch? Hate to brag, but I definitely looked much cooler back in those times because I kept up with my nutrition and wore cool clothes. It hasn't been easy these days with all the traveling and holidays intervening with my life, but I'm currently working my way back to that version of myself. Anyway, weekends can be pretty boring, so I thought I'd fill in the gap with those older uploads. I thought about re-uploading Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, but I do have other completed long plays that include: Tony Hawk's Underground 2, Pokémon Orange, Desert Nightmare, and Pokémon Moon. Any suggestions? If it's quiet like always, then it's going to be THAW. I should've made this post a lot sooner because it takes everyone 24 hours or a whole week to see these posts.
Game dev progress: You will now see my logo opening that I don't use anymore when you start up the game before entering the main menu. I've also finished up one ending. Now, I just need to finish the rest of the game which are shorter scenes. For a game that's meant to be short, it's a taking a long freaking time to put together. This will be a game that I plan to update every now and then, but they probably won't be horror-related unless I have wacky crazy ideas because, ironically, I'm better at putting together comedy romance stuff than I am horror. I don't know if any ladies are reading this, but some small voice lines for the female character would be icing on the cake! There will be credits in the main menu and after the endings. Just simple voice lines like, "Hi!", "Oh!", "Umm", "Grr", "Hahaha!", and a gasp would be cool to add to the game. My voice is too deep to sound like a lady....There used to be a REALLY good voice changer I messed around with 11 years ago, but it's probably long gone now.
While I wait to hear if anyone wants to watch Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, I'm gonna get back to working on the game, do some mobility stretches, watch some shows or movies, and eat a little bit of pho.
Hi team, still here and enjoying a nostalgic lunch that I used to have 10 years ago when I worked at the farm.
We're about four weeks into game development and it's turning out great! The game feels Bonnie's Bakery-esque which wasn't my intent. I'd post screenshots, but I find it abhorrently annoying when haters blast my name on their socials like a TMZ page. My YouTube channel isn't big and there's a severe lack of engagement, so it's not difficult to tell if someone is unanimously chatting with themselves in the comments as if that would fool me.
Aside from the above description, the support has been very positive and I may have to thank the Puppet Combo crew for that because it probably would've been far less if I had turned down the movie. I felt like such useless human trash before this Puppet Combo movie happened and the crew uplifted me with a lot of confidence by telling me how talented I am (even including examples) and that everyone loves me. I'm not used to hearing people tell me they're sorry that certain horrible situations happened to me, I usually get laughed at and told to deal with it. Shows how toxic the internet has become, only miserable sobs taking their frustration on you that don't even have the decency to give their condolences to the deceased and turn it political. Sorry, this was a bit much.
Anyway, I think I'll take a little break for today from game development and finally edit the Bully: Scholarship Edition montage that's been using in my hard drive for 11 months; it's taking up 60 gigabytes, so best to clear it out. I'm so lost with what works and doesn't work on this YouTube channel anymore, the latest Baldi's Basics video actually didn't do as well as I'd had hoped? It was above average, but not enough to get the channel anywhere. I don't care at this point, I'm just going to post what I feel like posting because almost everything will be a miss if it's coming from my name. I can't convince anyone to support my stuff no matter how hard I work for it, almost like it's in my genetics for everyone to grow tired of me.
Still recording the behind the scenes game dev episode for The New PhuCat Show, but it's currently 15 minutes long. It's been so fun working on this game! It's hard to decide whether I want to include dev commentary in the episode or do it separately; traditionally, I should keep it in the episode, but I didn't like how long it dragged on last time when The New PhuCat Show episodes are typically supposed to only be 30 minutes long unless it's a special episode like the Puppet Combo episode coming in October. And speaking of October, maybe I'll also film a Katz Halloween episode? More to the fun for spooky month. 🎃
Gonna get to editing the Bully: SE montage now. Thanks for reading!
Back with another update before the month of April ends. I've been putting a lot of time on those projects I mentioned in the last update that I'll break down throughout this post. Aside from members, I don't think I'll have any videos until May just because I'm prioritizing over my projects. The switch to mostly non-gaming content is still a little weird to me, but it feels like the right competent decision. I hope it's only temporary because I still breath for Let's Plays. Anyway:
- I've spent most of the time developing my short horror romance visual novel game and it's awesome seeing the support for it on Instagram! I've been having a lot of fun with it! I think I'm even having more fun than the time I made Misadventures of Mina two years ago. I confirm that I am working on a devlog episode of The New PhuCat Show for this to resonate the good times. I thought I would spend less time working on this than Misadventure of Mina because it's meant to be a shorter game, but I'm focusing heavily on quality and not some made up jargon as I progress in development. Can't rush this stuff if you want a good game.
- Speaking of The New PhuCat Show, I might redo the skate portion of the Day in the Life just because I feel like I didn't skate to my fullest potential...I'm always picky about that and this is why I cancelled multiple Day in the Life videos. The rest of the Day in the Life is fine, but I'm just not happy with how I skated. We're 30 episodes in, I want it to get better from here and not half-baked content where I'm barely scraping through.
- I just released new merch! To be honest, a lot of the designs I made in the past felt like I only made them as a business and not for the love of it...Even I didn't want to purchase my own merch, so I put love into the designs that are out now. I'm poor as a mofo (I'm even paying in coins at the grocery store. Watch back on my videos with ads on, so I can finally get my freaking hundred bucks from YouTube), but I thought about buying at least one of the new shirt designs. Very happy with how they turned out! Link will be below this.
- Out of all the articles covering the Night Shift movie, I specifically want to thank "ComicBook.com" for referencing not only my name, but also my YouTube channel! I feel like almost all of the article-based websites will leave that out, but praise YouTubers with a massive following. It helps us smaller channels than you know when we're mentioned as more than just actors.
Uhh I haven't gotten around to the digital cookbook thing and I barely worked on the special vlog/skate video project. I have a few b-roll clips including an animation from the female character from my short horror romance visual novel game, but nothing much else because it rained like all hell here and haven't had a chance to go out and record videos.
Members: I got some gaming content for all of you...By all, I just mean one member, Muzamil. 💀 And I'll also show the current progress I made with the game as, I guess, early access. Remember Pokemon Realidea System and Harvester?! I sure do! Haha! HAHAHAHA!!! No seriously, I should get those longplays over with.
I believe that is all. My other YouTube channel, The BlackVeil Tapes, is still alive and well; I haven't posted anything on there until today because of everything I said in this post and I will make an episode of The New PhuCat Show talking about why I started The BlackVeil Tapes, so everyone who supports this channel is going to be eating GOOD! HEHE!
Wut is UP young feller brethren?! Idk why I said that, but I'm about to drop some updates/announcements now. This may be a long one.
For starters, I haven't been uploading because I've considered changes to the channel; I was going to make video about it, but I feel like people understand me more through here than video...I don't know if it's some sort of speech impediment problem where I'm always misconstrued, but that's why we're here. I haven't been responding, but I've read all the comments. The common theme I've seen throughout a lot (probably most) of those comments is that people "used" to watch me. The feedback has been indirect, but it's clear that nobody cares about Let's Plays anymore which is very unfortunate because Let's Plays are the reason why I landed in a horror movie in the first place. I'd LOVE to keep doing it because it's what I'm best at, there's so many game developers who deserve the recognition, and you never know who the next game developer will be to go for a movie adaptation, but it's far too risky to post any kind of game I want. I plan to keep the Let's Play format, but I may lean towards vlogs more from now on which is how I originally started on YouTube. NOW, the problem with vlogs is that The New PhuCat Show exist which is where I put together all my vloggish stuff in. How will I approach this predicament? The New PhuCat Show will just have to be re-edits of whatever vlogs I decide to publish; I don't have enough time in my life to continuously make two different vlogs if that makes sense?
WHOO! That was kinda long! Well with that said, I may have to discontinue Harvester or I could move it to members only. I'll probably do most Let's Plays on members only, seems like the safest route. I do plan to continue posting montages because it just feels right to have them as the opening video for when you enter the channel page. To make a long announcement short: I never gave up on myself, but everyone gave up on me.
Speaking of members......I didn't forget about Pokemon Realidea System lmfao we've been playing that darn game since January. I need to pick up the pace.
Next topic, The New PhuCat Show! I finished recording a Day in the Life last week. I just need to make a opening skit and it'll be good to go on YouTube. The special Puppet Combo episode is ready to go too, it's over 50 minutes long and won't be posted until October AFTER the movie releases. I also want to do a special hour long video for the series where it's a mix of my typical vlog shenanigans and skate video (I guess similar to PhuCat Diets episode 50). I haven't started on that yet, but soon! I need to come up with a nice title name and put together an opening for it.
I don't know when I'll get around to it, but I want to work on a short horror romance visual novel; unsure if I'll use Mina again for a sequel or just create a brand new character. I'll need to plan a story that isn't as wild and made up along the way like Misadventures of Mina turned out to be lol.
I want to do more for the merch store. Of course more designs, but a digital cookbook with healthy recipes would be awesome! I've had that idea for about four years now where it started off as some low calorie nonsense (I don't believe in calorie counting anymore, I'm all for eating nutrient-dense foods). If this is something I can come back to and edit every time, then I'll be happy to launch it as soon as possible. I'm not aiming for it to be in book stores or any of that fancy jazz, I just think it'd be a fun project.
This turned out to be much longer than I thought, so I will conclude the post from here. Thank you for tuning into my TED Talk.
I’m back home sooner than expected. It was out of the blue, I didn’t know I was leaving for home until I got back to the movie crew house, so I’m a little sad that I didn’t properly say goodbye to everyone and never got to see the next setting. 😿 Puppet Combo crew was awesome! They were so kind and patient even with how quiet I am. I wish I wasn’t so quiet, but that’s who I grew up to be (people just suck.) I do hope we all meet again someday; that COULD happen if the film is well received! Sooo check it out in October. 🎃 Easily the highlight of 2025.
Back to making YouTube videos after I get some rest.

Puppet Combo crew was awesome! They were so kind and patient even with how quiet I am. I wish I wasn’t so quiet, but that’s who I grew up to be (people just suck.) I do hope we all meet again someday; that COULD happen if the film is well received! Sooo check it out in October. 🎃
Easily the highlight of 2025.
Back to making YouTube videos after I get some rest.
