there is this believe that ember months are the months when unfortunate things happen. but I am here to tell you that these ember months are going to be the best months of the year for you. when others will say there is a casting down, you will continue singing there is a lifting up for me. the eyes of the enemy has been shut against you and your family. every thing works in your favour including the ones the enemy ment to destroy you. be confident cos he who is with and for you is greater than they against you. happy new month, welcome to September, Welcome to your month of endless favour, welcome to ember months.
I used to think being close and accepted by God was something I had to achieve. I felt that if I prayed for longer hours, fasted for lengthy days, did everything right, that I will be closer and accepted by God.
But here is the truth... All of those things I thought was a criteria to be accepted by God were actually not.
Ephesians 1:6 says we are accepted in the Beloved.
Not we will be accepted when we did all of that. Those Christian practices are good 👍🏼 but not a criteria, they are not requirements, they are not conditions to be met to be accepted by God.
it says we already are accepted in the beloved. That means my acceptance with God is not something I’m working towards, it's not dependent on what I do, there are no conditions given to be accepted.
it’s something I’m already standing in. It's based on what Jesus has done already.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
If it was about what I have to do, then Jesus wouldn't have demonstrated his love for me. If God didn't accept me from the beginning, it would have been very difficult to demonstrate his love because you can't show love to someone you don't accept.
So God did not have to wait till I came around before he could accept me, he didn't have to wait till I become a changed person before he could accept me or come close to me.
He accepted me even in my mess, he has always been close, he's around waiting patiently for me to notice his presence, he doesn't walk away, you know why? Because he loves you too much and he knows the thoughts he has for you.
Until you understand this, you’ll keep striving… you’ll keep feeling like you’re not enough… because you’re trying to earn what was freely given.
But when this truth settles in your heart… everything changes. You stop relating with God from fear… and you start relating with Him from love. You stop trying to qualify… because you realize Christ already qualified you.
So now, I don’t wake up trying to be accepted by God… I wake up knowing that I am already accepted.
And from that place of understanding, I pray, I fast and I live.
