If you’d met the version of me from just a few years ago, you wouldn’t recognise me.
I was seeking approval in every way possible — with men, social media, in my career, even in my friendships.
You wouldn’t have thought I wasn’t confident, because I’d never show it.
But inside I was sad.
I felt unfulfilled.
My desires felt so clear to me, yet impossible to reach.
When I now think back to this version of myself, I feel nothing but love and gratitude for her.
Love, because she couldn’t see that she deserved it all along and never needed to be any different than she was.
Gratitude, because she’s the reason my life looks so different now.
Because she took the steps necessary to make it happen.
SHE decided to do the work to change her self concept.
SHE invested in herself even when she wasn’t sure of the outcome.
SHE was brave enough to bet on herself.
Today I’ve got nothing to prove to anyone, yet my reality has shifted.
I’m getting to do work that doesn’t feel like work.
I’m in love with my life.
The connections I have light up my heart and soul.
I feel at home — in every way.
I almost reached a point where I thought I’d have to settle for less than what I truly wanted.
I’m glad I chose not to do that.
