Happy St.Nicholas Day! 🎄🎉🎁 This is a Ukrainian Santa Claus, who lived in real life. In my childhood it was celebrated 19th of December, and he left the presents near the bed. But with new calendar we celebrate it the 6th of December now. It was fun, because we got presents as kids on St. Nicholas Day and New year! However it wasn’t always fun, because for a long time he was banned in Ukraine as a symbol of Ukrainian tradition and he has religious roots. Instead we had Ded Moroz (grandpa the frost), who by Soviet regime had to displace our Nicholas. We make our traditions reborn, we don’t forget about them and we make them keep alive!!!
