STORYTIME #1 Okay, so I can't tell you their real names, so let's call them V and D, because their names start with those letters. So basically, we were a trio. And at the beginning, I genuinely thought they were my BEST friends. We used to sit together, talk about everything, and I never thought I'd ever have a problem with them. But slowly, things started changing. We used to sit together in class, and I was usually in the middle because we'd all sit next to each other. Then one day, V and D switched seats. Suddenly, I was sitting at the very end. I thought, okay, maybe it's nothing. But then it kept happening. Whenever there was a chance to choose seats, they'd sit together first and I'd somehow end up on the side. And when I'd try to sit with them, one of them would say, “Wait, I was sitting here.” Like girl… WHERE was I supposed to sit? 😭 Then came the friendship card incident. We were making a card at school, and I genuinely thought we'd write all three of our names. I looked down… V had written D's name. D had written V's name. And mine wasn't there. I just laughed and pretended I didn't care. But I went home thinking about it the entire day. Then I noticed another thing: they mostly needed me when exams were coming. Suddenly it was: “Send your notes.” “Can you explain this question?” “Please send me the answers.” But after exams? They'd disappear again. One day, I even saw them making plans right in front of me and they didn't invite me. I asked, “Oh, you guys are going somewhere?” They looked at each other and said, “Oh… we thought you wouldn't come.” THAT hurt. I went home and started crying because I genuinely thought V and D were my real friends. Then my phone started ringing. V called. I didn't answer. She called again. Then again. Then AGAIN. I was literally staring at my phone while crying, thinking, “What am I even supposed to say?” The next day, V asked why I ignored her calls. And I finally said: “Because I was crying. I thought you guys were actually my friends.” She didn't know what to say. After that, I stopped chasing them. I stopped asking to sit with them. I stopped waiting for their messages. And eventually, I left the group and blocked V and D. The craziest part? Once I stopped trying, I realized how exhausting it had been trying to prove that I belonged there. Sometimes you don't realize you're the third wheel until you stop moving closer and see how far they've already moved away from you! And before anyone says “this is fake” I genuinely wish it was I changed their names to V and D because I'm not comfortable sharing their real names, but everything else in this story actually happened!! 😭 Inspired by: @jenzenergy🤍🫶🏻
