Sailing Shameless

Our next anchorage on the way to Borneo, after a full day sailing, was Gili Lyang. It’s located in the Bali sea. The island is relatively underdeveloped and has been noted for its plant diversity and high concentrations of oxygen.[1] Several villages are located on the island, and a 2019 scholarly article notes that the local population relies heavily on local plants for food and medicine.
The island’s unusually high concentrations of oxygen have led to Gili Lyang being considered as a potential tourism hub. This island has the second highest oxygen concentration in the world. There unsure exactly why?
This island obviously doesn’t have a lot of western tourists, because the local people seemed quite entertained and excited at seeing us. No English was spoken here. The wooden poles seen in one of the pictures, were told is to hang the locals bird cage’s from first thing in the morning, before it gets too hot, apparently the birds like it and sing more #sail #oxygen #adventure #island #sailinglife

Pasir Putih. What a beautiful, quiet, secluded spot hard to believe it’s Bali. It boasts a hot spring which we dipped our toe in , it was very hot, think a hot kitchen sink for washing dishes hot!. We also enjoyed some paddle swans, I haven’t seen anything like this since I was a kid.
