A little update on my “putting sewing first” experiment! 🧵☕️

A few of you asked whether I’d actually try this again after watching my latest “Sip & Sew” video… and I have!

Over the last few days I’ve deliberately put sewing higher up my priority list rather than waiting until all the boring life admin is done first. And you know what? - I finished a whole quilt top! 😍

I also went to my very first craft night with some mums from school, which was SO lovely. 🥰

I think this little experiment has definitely helped me reframe the way I think about sewing. Maybe it doesn’t always have to be the reward I give myself *AFTER* I’ve done everything else. Maybe it’s okay to make time for the things I actually enjoy too! The mopping can wait…

I’m definitely going to keep experimenting with this… although I’m not sure my housework is going to appreciate my new philosophy. 😂

For my crafty folks in Perth, Australia!!! The CraftAlive expo is on again and I promised after I attended last year that I’d let you all know when the next one was on! 30th-2nd Aug in Claremont. WA Quilters Association quilt exhibition is part of it. My sister is coming with me this year and she’s just recently started sewing (she’s even made her very first quilt a few months ago!) - so I’m ULTRA EXCITED! Perhaps we will see you there!

10,000! 🎉
Wow. I truly can't believe my channel has reached such an incredible milestone.
To some people, 10,000 subscribers might not seem like a huge number, but to me, it feels absolutely massive.
I uploaded my very first video back in 2022 with no idea what I was doing. I didn't know how to edit videos, capture decent footage, or even talk confidently to a camera. I remember filming countless takes because I doubted myself so much and genuinely thought no one would be interested in what I was creating.
Fast forward four years, and there are now 10,000 of you choosing to spend your time watching what I make. That is something I never take for granted.
I'm so grateful for every single one of you and for the wonderful community we've built together.
Over the last few years, this YouTube journey has taught me so much about why I create. At its heart, creativity is a form of human expression. I share my projects in the hope that they bring a little joy, spark inspiration, and encourage others to explore the creativity that exists within all of us.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you've been here since my very first video or you've only just discovered my channel, I'm so glad you're here.
Here's to the next chapter of creating! I am so excited to share it all with you. ❤️

What have you been making lately? ✨

I'd love some inspiration! I've just finished a bunch of refashions (video coming soon 👀) and have been sewing cosmetic bags from my stash using an amazing pattern by Rosie Caldwell.

With all the zips and lace I have on hand, I'm tempted to make a few more for future gifts... although a new quilting project is calling my name too!

Maybe I'll do both. 😄

I’ve been seeing a lot of designer fabric collaborations lately — like Liberty doing those Adidas collections — and it got me thinking… I wonder what would happen if I took something like that idea and just made it for myself.
I used a ‪@babylonleather‬ DIY bag kit and my favourite liberty fabric and made the absolute cutest bag ever! I’m in LOVE!

Many of you asked about the fabric destash market that I went to last year. The next one is on tomorrow in Perth, WA! Despite having more fabric than I have space for, I am still going, because we all need more fabric in our lives 😂😂😂 perhaps I’ll see some of you there!

MY FIRST EVER longform crochet video is live! This has been in my mind and then in the works for such a long time. It’s the video that I wish I watched before making my first crochet cardigan (as someone who doesn’t really enjoy following patterns!).
If you’ve got random/scrap yarn in your stash, perhaps you should try making a one for yourself or someone you care about!
