There's only a couple o' days left to go until the pilot is fully completed, and preproduction on Episode Two (you might have spotted the turnarounds I posted earlier if you're a paid supporter) is going well! By the end of December, I expect to be able to start recruiting for it, and by March, we should be starting on the storyboards if not the animaton - which is also when our new crowdfunding campaign will launch! (Current expectation: February 27, 2024)!

If there are things you absolutely want to see during this campaign, be it teasers, behind the scenes or rewards, be sure to let us know! There's plenty of time still to put together a strong, awesome campaign that draws your interest as our supporters. You are as much a part of this as we are.

Expect more news to start coming out over the next couple o' months!

5000 views got us about $9 in ad revenue, and that's before YouTube and my MCN take their cuts. So in order to make back our budget, we'd need... somewhere just over 3 million views. And that's with me animating the entire episode by myself... which takes a whole year... of 16-hour days. Seven days a week.

I'm gonna die.

New Media Signatory indie production Swift Spark and the Defense Five stands in solidarity with its union actors during this SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike. Support your union, support your actors, support your writers. If I were American, you'd find me on the picket line myself.

What does this mean? The writing and casting process for Episode 2 has halted.

I'll be discussing with SAG-AFTRA if the promotional live streams we planned will be allowed to go ahead if only I (the producer/director) am involved.

Our actors will not be promoting the pilot on social media. I ask this of our non-union cast too - please stand in solidarity with your union co-workers. It's important that we support them in getting a fair deal, even if we seem an insignificant cohort in this giant battle.

We are SAG-AFTRA signatory, which means the production falls under a union contract. Only SAG-AFTRA signatory productions are affected by this strike, that's why we're on strike. However, indie animators and filmmakers - consider what things you can do to stand in solidarity with the strike, even as an indie production. Anything helps.

Ahh you guys have NO idea how excited I am for this Tuesday, and you know, screw it - as soon as the final voice cast has been compiled, I'm just gonna start schedule voice acting sessions with them. I have $2,000 in savings, and I'm just gonna use them to get this ball rolling before the Kickstarter even launches.
