Today is Hydesville Day which is a very important day for Spiritualists as it marks the beginning of Modern Spiritualism. It was the phenomena of the Hydesville rappings at the home of the Fox Sisters which demonstrated the truth that those who pass continue to live on and can communicate with us via mediums.
On the morning of March 31, 1848, one of Spiritualism’s greatest pioneers Andrew Jackson Davis heard the following words: 'Brother, the good work has begun - behold, a living demonstration is born.' The Hydesville rappings followed later that day and Modern Spiritualism was born, and quickly spread across the US and further afield.
May we take a moment to recognise the wonderful efforts of all of our pioneers over the past 176 years that have given recognition to the religion of Spiritualism and the practice of mediumship. May we also offer our thanks to them and ensure that their efforts are never forgotten.
May we recognise that they have passed the torch down to us to continue to spread the truth of Spiritualism: that there is no death and that mediumship is a natural process of communication that comforts and heals.
As workers for spirit, we must now step up and become the pioneers for future generations and continue the ‘good work’ and the ‘living demonstration’ that began in 1848.

Last night we had spirit pop in during the last reading live. I love that. Though what an amazing story.
Let me break it down for you. A woman daily goes each morning to bring joy to her grandmother.
Pure Joy. Her smile and happiness give the aging grandmother so much love.
We may not be happy - we may have a lot going on in our lives - we may be low - but being there for our loved ones and caring, pushing through & sharing our light is never ignored.
