My deepest condolences go out to the victims, their families, and everyone affected by the tragic events at Bondi.
I am holding close the Bondi community, and also the Jewish community marking the first day of Hanukkah,
a time meant for light, reflection, and togetherness.
It is deeply distressing to witness violence in a country like Australia, where people of different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs have long lived side by side with mutual respect. Acts of violence have no place in our communities and stand in direct opposition to the values of safety, inclusion, and humanity we strive to protect.
My thoughts are with all those impacted. May we continue to choose compassion over fear, and unity over hatred.
