I’m deeply saddened to announce the passing of Art Cathey, the founder of GTFOA and a true pioneer for Black Americans seeking freedom, opportunity, and reconnection in West Africa.
I first got to know Art in December 2024 during our very first consultation call. From the start, she was generous with her knowledge, honest about the process, and deeply committed to making sure people were prepared—not just excited—about relocating to Africa and doing business on the continent. She broke things down clearly, answered every question, and never sugar-coated the reality, which I respected deeply.
In September, I took my trip to Ghana and had the privilege of meeting her in person. That moment meant more to me than she probably knew. I will always be grateful for the guidance she gave, the doors she helped open, and the confidence she instilled in people who dared to imagine a different life beyond the U.S.
Art leaves behind one son, along with friends, family, and a global community who will truly miss her. Her work, her courage, and her impact will live on through every person she helped take that leap.
Cancer is brutal—and it ultimately took her from us far too soon.
Rest well, Art.
Thank you for your service, your vision, and your heart.

A lot of people ask, “Where does the Bible talk about soul ties?”
While the exact phrase isn’t used, the concept absolutely is.
📖 1 Corinthians 6:16–17 makes it clear that sexual intimacy creates a real spiritual bond:
“The two will become one flesh.”
That union was designed by God for marriage, but it still forms even in ungodly relationships.
That’s why some connections don’t just fade when the relationship ends.
Sex creates oneness — emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.
📖 Genesis 2:24 reinforces this design.
📖 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us that in Christ, we can become new again.
📖 1 John 1:9 shows the way out — confession, cleansing, and release.
This is why certain relationships feel hard to shake.
This is why patterns repeat.
This is why healing sometimes requires spiritual separation, not just physical distance.
The same power that creates a bond can also break it — through repentance, prayer, and realignment with God.

Y’all… one thing about this season? I’m grateful. Truly.
When you finally clean house, cut off the spiritual leeches, and let God show you who’s who… the peace hits DIFFERENT.
Some people were attached to my energy but never added to my spirit.
Some were smiling in my face while draining me dry.
And some were only connected to the ACCESS — not the assignment.
But I released all of that.
I’m lighter. I’m clearer. And I’m honestly better off without them.
If you’ve been struggling to let go, take this as your sign: protect your energy like it’s sacred — because it IS.
Here are a few verses that hit home for me during this purge:
📖 Matthew 7:6 – “Do not throw your pearls before swine…”
📖 Proverbs 4:23 – “Above all else, guard your heart…”
📖 2 Timothy 3:5 – “Have nothing to do with such people.”
📖 Psalm 1:1 – “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked…”
📖 Amos 3:3 – “Can two walk together unless they be agreed?”
If they couldn’t walk with me in purpose, they can’t stand with me in this next chapter.
And guess what? I’m good with that.
✨ New season. New boundaries. New blessings.
Let the leeches stay gone.
