Just found out from a community member who spoke to AtGames. If you are planning to upgrade from the HD pinball to the new HDP. You will be required to purchase all previously owned packs for them to work on the HDP.
They are offering a Week One deal of up to 70% off pinball packs if you are upgrading from an HD to the new HDP but AtGames is also having a 50% off deal right now. So maybe go ahead and stock up on some packs if you are planning on purchasing the TMNT HDP machine later such as Black Friday for $999.
So this is unfortunate, it basically means they are treating the new HDP as a watered down 4KP and you will need to purchase 4kp pinball packs, but at least you are able to purchase zen packs as well on this device.
Hopefully this clears up some confusion and I wish AtGames was more transparent and out front about this stuff instead of people from the community having to ask.
Also, it's my birthday today, not sure if I'm going to be able to make it to Yo! Retro tonight. But I definitely want to talk about the HDP and what to expect before you buy.
