There's a lost art of steelmanning arguments in debates and discussions. I keep seeing Muslims like Libyano say things like "I don't believe in Greek mythological man-God that got crucified on a stick." But this isn't a steelman. It's a strawman. It uses words in such a way to make Christian theology seem absurd, and then makes the rebuttal easier (it's not even accurate to what we actually believe). Christians do the same thing to. They will take a belief in Islam (or something else) and word in such a way to make it sound silly.
We need to bring back steelmanning arguments (representing someone's position and argument to make it sound as strong as possible). Anyone can misrepresent Christian/Islamic theology. But to be able to represent someone's position, make it sound strong, and still be able to refute, that accomplishes so much more.

Dear Christians, Muslims, or anyone in the religious debate scene:
Slow down when talking. You're not getting style points for talking fast. I know it looks cool, but it doesn't help the conversation at all. It's really hard to understand what you're saying most of the time, and it's even more difficult to address what you're saying especially when you have multiple points. I get it. Sometimes you're in the heat of the moment. Sometimes I speak a little fast too, but it's no better when I do it because I guarantee you people listening struggle to understand me to. Speak slowly and clearly, pronounce your words properly, and make sure the person you're speaking to understands your point.
Case in point, listen to just 5-10 min of Glen's stream here, and listen to how AN the Servant speaks. Idk about you, but I had to put it on .75 speed so it sounds like he's talking AT NORMAL SPEED.

Little throwback discussion on Brother Maverick's discussion. GRAFTED did an excellent job dismantling this guy. My main contribution was on the point of "brethren" in Deuteronomy 18, and the guest was NOT having it. Check it out (it's also in my discussions playlist).

Slight change of plans: I'll probably shedule my last few videos overtime so my channel isn't completely dormant these next few months. It won't be perfect but at least I won't release all 5 videos at once and then just leave. Still planning to return in May however.

This video is ridiculous: youtube.com/shorts/1mbLqn6M_b...
Essentially the message is, "God's people don't go to church, because going to church doesn't mean you're saved, and maybe people are deceived into thinking so. God's people live for Him. Don't go to church, live for Him." And no, I'm not strawmanning it, because the caption LITERALLY SAYS "God's elect don't go to church." Unless it's ragebait, which doesn't make it better because ragebaiting is a sin (Pro. 26:19).
This entire line of reasoning is a non-sequitur. Scripture is clear that there are those among the church that only appear saved (Mat. 13:24-30, cf. 13:36-43). But it DOES NOT FOLLOW that you shouldn't go to church. The only conclusion you can draw is that going to church doesn't mean you're saved. The Bible clearly teaches the gathering and fellowship of believers. Paul wrote to individual churches if you take one glance at ANY one of his letters. The issue of church discipline implies local gathering (Mat. 18:15-17, 2 The. 3:6, etc.). We shouldn't forsake this gathering of believers Hebrews 10:24-25. No one is saying church saves. No one is saying "trust your religion" (an actual argument used in the video, which is ironic because James 1:26-27 speaks of religion). It's completely understood you're saved in Christ alone, but that DOESN'T disqualify the duty as a Christian to go to church and fellowship with other believers regularly.
Sorry, short rant because this video genuinely made me upset at how bold it was in its biblically empty claims.
