I had an amazing event at Old Town Books with Scott Reintgen last night. We had a full room and so many people came to see us.
A particularly funny highlight was when a reader asked us who the tastiest creature was in our books and Scott was like, "Please don't eat my dragons" and I then mentioned people eat my monsters all the time! I said, "Gorgantaun Westley is delicious and sort of like a beef wellington."
My wife and I had some yummy seafood and I enjoyed a delicious lobster roll, and had a great time walking around Alexandria.
Next up on the tour is TeenBookCon in Houston.
Thanks as always to my publisher Peachtree Teen for sending me out to Virginia.
RISE!

I'm knee-deep in the copy edits for my next novel, BEHIND THE GLASS, planned for release later this year on November 10th from Blackstone Publishing.
I first wrote this book many years ago when I was trying to land a literary agent with SKY’S END. I'm so happy readers will get to dive into this violent cyberpunk thrill-ride. It has touches of The Matrix, Ready Player One, The Godfather, and Star Trek holodeck episodes where the safety protocols have been disabled!
Here's a quick synopsis:
A breakneck dystopian thriller from the mind of New York Times bestselling author Marc J. Gregson
When he was just fourteen years old, Malcolm Jennings was conscripted by a corporation who got him addicted to rage-inducing drugs and turned into one of their disposable child soldiers.
But Malcolm isn't a child anymore.
He's the ultimate survivor-a relentless, unstoppable killer, tested by years of battle in a pollution-ravaged Earth. That makes him the top target for the eco-activists who are fighting corporate rule … but they don't want to stop him. They want to recruit him.
Eager for revenge against those who stole his life, Malcolm and his new allies infiltrate the reigning authority's twisted business school-a 1920s mob-era simulacrum where the next generation of ruthless executives are groomed to out-gangster each other in an all-out crime war.
The stakes could not be higher.
For Malcolm, it's his only chance at payback. For everyone else, it may be their only chance to save the world outside.

Another amazing DOWNFALL author event, this time at The Printed Garden in Sandy, Utah.
I read an alternate scene from AMONG SERPENTS, chatted with readers, discussed and speculated on the SKY'S END movie, and signed a bunch of books. It was so fun, too, because I recognized many readers from prior events. Apparently, they like my books because they keep coming back! 😄
The Printed Garden has a big poster of SKY'S END over the YA section. I signed that, too!
The Printed Garden had some leftover signed copies, DOWNFALL pins, and monster coins. If you'd like to try to get some, contact the store.
Next up, I will be visiting Folklore Bookshop in Midway, UT on April 8th. After that, I will be flying to Virginia to visit Old Town Books with Scott Reintgen.
I hope to see you!

So some cool news on week one sales:
According to Bookscan, DOWNFALL's first week slightly outperformed AMONG SERPENTS' first week--which I thought was already quite strong.
It's cool to see your continued support and to watch the series grow and find new readers, too! 😀

DOWNFALL is a week old!
The Above the Black series has reached its conclusion, and here are some pictures of me taking pictures with my author copies.
I hope you're loving my books as much as I loved writing them.

The tour continues!
I had an incredible time at Poppy Books in Spanish Fork, Utah last night and we had a full room! I read another deleted scene, this time from AMONG SERPENTS, and I had such a good time meeting readers and signing their books. This crowd had great questions, too!
Go visit Poppy Books if you haven't already. It's one of my favorite stores and the booksellers are so awesome. It's fun just to explore.
I left a few extra signed copies as well as DOWNFALL pins and monster coins and bookmarks!
Up next is The Printed Garden in Sandy, Utah on March 27th.

Last night's launch event for DOWNFALL was incredible!
Thank you to all who came. The King's English was a wonderful host, and I had a blast reading a deleted scene from SKY'S END that I wrote a decade ago. I forgot how disgusting the Master of Disposal was, so we had some good laughs while I provided commentary and assured everyone this scene was no longer canon and was cut for a good reason! Haha! I feel truly fortunate and blessed to share my stories with others, and it's such an exhilarating feeling meeting my readers, chatting with them, answering their questions, signing their books, and taking a picture with them. The Q&A section was a highlight in particular. There are extra signed copies at The King's English Bookshop, so if you want to order them online or visit the store, they can send you them. Don't forget to ask about swag. They might have some!
DOWNFALL is now in the readers' hands, in their earbuds, or on their eBook readers.
Together, we rise!
