Rq question for the basses of Youtube: I've seen a few videos discussing a technique called ingressive phonation, which is a way of singing by inhaling instead of exhaling that allows you to hit incredibly low notes. As a bass myself, i stumbled upon this even before I had seen the videos and yes it does work! It's a very clean way of hitting otherwise unreachable bass notes and i really enjoy it. So I was practicing, as one does, and discovered a funny little thing. I've noticed that I can add vocal fry to the ingressive singing, to drop the octave the same you would with the first subharmonic. I don't claim to be an expert on this, which is why I'm asking all of you. Has anyone else stumbled upon this or known about it for a bit? I'd love to hear your thoughts :)
