Squatchin Adventures 50+ Years Around the Sun

Oh my Lanta… last night got REAL.
Pops & Nana went boots on the ground at Little Twin Lakes with our friend Alaskan Bigfooter… and what started as a calm daytime exploration turned into something we won’t forget anytime soon.
We spent the afternoon scouting, revisiting a known hotspot — gifting apples, pears, and a little Peter Pan peanut butter near one of our Triple X structure areas.
We felt the forest watching… movement across the creek… something holding its ground up on the ridgeline.
But once darkness fell…
everything changed.
🌲 Rocks started hitting the lake.
Not pebbles… not small tosses…
LOUD, forceful impacts — one after another — plunging into the water.
Scott was down by the edge when it started.
And then… chaos.
A hard fall.
A rough hit.
Adrenaline through the roof.
We regrouped…
We listened…
And then it happened again.
More rocks.
Same intensity.
Same direction.
The energy shifted… heavy… electric… undeniable.
Nana had the nervous laughter going (you’ll hear it 😅)…
and we all knew…
we were not alone out there.
We gave our thanks to the forest friends…
and made our way out — together.

Yesterday was Pops’ birthday!!! 🎉
And of course… he spent it putting in a fence for our daughter 💪 (because that’s just how he rolls)… then we wrapped up the day celebrating with family at Roosters Landing.
If you’ve been following our adventures, you already know—Pops is the steady one out there in the woods… while Nana’s feeling all the forest magic 😄🌲
He’s the calm voice, the wood-knocker, the “Everything will be fine” guy—and we’re pretty lucky to have him leading the way.

Alright friends… we wanted to share a little more about our recent time in the woods 👣🌲
We had the opportunity to meet up and spend time with Alaskan Bigfooter
(‪@AlaskanBigfooter‬ )
If you caught our first video together, you already got a glimpse into that experience 👀
There were great conversations, shared perspectives, and time spent just being present out there… and we also got to spend time with his pups, Pearl & Barklee, who were right there along for the adventure 🐾
But that was just part of it…
👉 Tomorrow (Saturday) we’ll be dropping our night sit together
