This beautiful 4-year-old boy has had a loving family, but sadly his owner became ill and had to go into hospital. With 4 dogs already at home, the family could not legally take in another – and they didn’t want him to end up in a shelter. That’s when they reached out to us. 💔

🐾 Babel is everything you could wish for in a companion:

🌟 #MeetMeMonday Palomino 🐴🌟

This handsome gelding arrived at our sanctuary only recently — and what a journey it’s been to get him here. 💛

Palomino came to us alongside our lovely donkey Ringo from La Palma. Their neighbour had watched them struggle for a long time and, determined to help, worked tirelessly to buy them out so they could come to safety.

Getting Palomino here was no easy feat — a complicated ferry trip, endless transport logistics, and paperwork confusion that had us going back and forth to the mainland to untangle his identity.
After weeks of legalising documents and tracking down his history, we finally secured his papers in our name. He is safe now. 🐴✨

Palomino arrived very underweight with poor feet, and unlike most horses who improve quickly on our care plan, his progress has been slow. We’ve started clearing sand from his gut and introducing probiotics to support his digestion so he can absorb all the nutrients from his new healthy diet.

Today we’re celebrating and saying a huge thank you to Claudia — one of our amazing volunteers who always comes back to help us. 💛

Claudia brings so much love and support to our animals every time she comes back she brings lots of gifts for our animals:

🐱 Toys & enrichment for our cats
🩺 Medical care & essential supplies
💛 Special resources for our most vulnerable residents
🌱 Super thoughtful gifts, from the smallest items to the biggest essentials.

Every time she visits – it feels like Christmas for the animals.

A couple weeks ago we had another suprise box of goodies, As you can see, we are so happy! 🥰

Because our residents have been through so much, and many have ongoing digestive issues, it’s very hard to get the right supplies here on the island. Claudia works so hard to make it happen, and we’re beyond grateful for everything she does for the sanctuary and all the animals. 💛🐾

We can’t wait to welcome her back again soon! 🐴🐶🐱

If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly and easy-going companion, look no further — Lilla is your girl 💕

Sadly, Lilla isn’t thriving in Finca life. She’s too loyal, too loving and just wants a person of her own. With ever-changing volunteers and over 30 dogs here, she’s longing for the stability of a family home.

✨ Why you’ll love Lilla:
– Calm, relaxed, and low-maintenance 🐾
– Doesn’t bark, doesn’t destroy, happy to chill when you’re out
– Big heart in a medium/large body
– Only sneaky habit: she likes to steal a little food 🍗 (she’s improving with gentle training!)

Right now she’s spending her days with a lovely volunteer but as her bond grows is sad as we know her human will have to leave. She spent all of her life in a cage before arriving here. She deserves a sofa, not a cage.

💙 Health note: Lilla has tested positive for a mild case of heartworm. She’s already on treatment, which is fully cost covered, and she’s expected to make a full recovery. All she needs is a calm, loving home to complete her journey.

This week on finca life, we faced an unexpected emergency when one of our rescue cats was suddenly paralyzed from the neck down. 💔 We rushed to get help, and it’s been an emotional ride—watch the full update to see what happened.
