The first two mini filler comics that I have prepared to post on We Can Be Happy will be up in a few hours! Sorry to cut off the mini comic preview after only two panels but the next panel is a little ✨ spicy ✨ and I need something to lure readers to my webtoon haha. The idea for this one came to me when I finished drawing Nat’s birthday post.

So I am finally getting around to finalizing the pages for my October project this year! It’s a short 10 page story based on an Inktober comic I made nearly a decade ago. I want to submit it to a manga anthology and the deadline is next month, so I figured it would be a good challenge and a nice way to mix things up since I’ve been working non-stop on We Can Be Happy for about a year (even though only 8 episodes are out, I know, I know)

I’m trying to slide this post in before midnight so I can’t write much more for this caption, but stay tuned for the next nine pages!

It was super annoying adding all of the details to Cole and Westie’s rooms, but I enjoyed throwing in all of the sort of Easter eggs in the details. It kind of made me realize that I don’t make nearly enough illustrations outside of comics, though, which is kind of a shame 🥲🥲 definitely need to work on that! Nara room doesn’t have any posters, partially because she’s a minimalist and partially because we spend a lot of time in Nat’s room throughout the series and I canNOT be bothered to add the posters every time. Anyway, please go read my comic on webtoon canvas, because Tapas is closing down so I am not bothering to keep adding episodes over there lol

Shy, Bi, and ready to cry!

I heard that it was recently bisexual visibility week so I wanted to reiterate how incredibly bisexual the main characters in We Can Be Happy are. Westie being bi has been mentioned in the story so far but they are both queer, which will become more relevant later in the story. It was weird making Nat pink and Westie blue since it’s their opposite colors, but I figured it was better to just follow the meme format.

The gar bar mentioned in episode 26 is named after a gay bar in Busan that I have been to, and the name was so funny I had to use it for my story. It was in Korean so it could have either been Tight Hole or Tight Hall, but it’s pretty clear which one is the superior name.

I have posted about it before but I often make surveys when I am selling at bazaars or conventions for passers by to fill out. Unfortunately I think this one was too niche for the general public visiting at the zine fest this weekend so I didn’t get a lot of engagement, but the girlies who got it GOT IT. I’m going to bring this survey, or some variation of it, with me to Comic Con in Thessaloniki in two weeks so here’s to hoping that the weebs up in northern Greece are more game. Today there was a poor girl who was trying to participate while her friend and I tried to explain all the different ship dynamics to her (+ a slight language barrier) while she didn’t understand at all. Anyway, please let me know which one you’d vote for, which of you ships matches one of these, or what your favorite ship dynamics are. Personally, I like all of them but I chose feral partners in crime

This week’s episode was a bit more chill with some small moments of exposition and character interactions~! I enjoy scenes like these a lot because they help you get to know the characters better while sprinkling in some details about the world the characters live in. It’ll be a while before we have a lot of wild and extreme cliffhangers in this arc, which I know isn’t great for “hooking readers” but I like them and I think they are good for my story. I’m still improving my writing abilities to make small moments like these more engaging but I hope my readers enjoy nonetheless. If you read this caption thanks so much~! I was traveling quite a bit this week so I didn’t have time to make a fanart for this Friday, so instead I will post some of the plen-air watercolor paintings that I made in my new watercolor sketchbook. I can’t say they’re super accurate to the subject matter but they were all pretty fun to make! I felt like a Real Artist with my paints out in public haha.

I’m not sure why this is bothering me so much more than some of the other baffling decisions that the US webtoons app has been making but I seriously want to crash out over these vertical dramas. It feels like whoever is making decisions at the top has very little interest in respecting their existing user base and instead seem to hate reading and people who read. There are so many ways the platform can be improved and instead I feel like ever since it went public the focus has been on increasing shareholder value. Not to mention the fact that the original stories are being bastardized! I’ve only read the original webtoon for one story and not only has the setting been moved to the US but the Korean characters been replaced by white actors. I’m tempted to write up all of my thoughts and resurrect my YouTube channel over this because I’m so mad!

With all that being said I’ve been considering using other platforms for a while now, and I’ve been posting my comic on Tapas lately, but I’m considering trying out some other platforms as well.

Hello and happy Fanart Friday! The first slide is of Sitaara/Fatima from Jaadugar: A Witch’s Life in Mongol. If you haven’t seen it yet I highly recommend it! The first episode paints such a beautiful picture of 13th century Iran, and the imagery of Central Asia throughout the rest of the series is also breathtaking. If anything, please watch it for the art!

Lately I have been having a horrible time trying to upload multiple images into YouTube posts??? Is anyone else having this problem???

Exes to lovers stories, amirite?

Hello and happy Friday! Instead of just wanted to remind everyone that I do in fact have a webtoon that I update every other week and that I updated it this week!! These past few episodes have been part of a slow buildup to ease us into the later episodes so I have Ben feeling pretty guilty about the slow update schedule, but this output speed is what I am currently capable of doing. So if you have still been with me after all this time despite my hiatus I just want you to know I really appreciate you!
