Ahoy me Hearties!

Very sorry it has been so long since I have been active here. Though we have continued the streams on Twitch, due to a spine injury I have not been able to sit here and edit videos. BUT all is not lost. We will be moving the studio into a more spacious area and will be back at it soon.

For over a year I pretty much laid on my back in a recliner. One of the few places I could sit without pain. Back in 2019 in January (we are in east coast Canada) I fell on the ice very hard from a truck. The day before I fell it was very warm here, but overnight it turned to -40c/-40f and everything that had melted was now like a fresh skating rink. To make things worse we also had that big fluffy type of snow. If you have lived somewhere with weather like this, you know how difficult, if not impossible it is to stand up on that.

The side of my right foot touched the ground and instantly slid. I had a messenger bag on me that had a bunch of card games I have in it. I used to be an assistant manager at a well known chain of video game stores. The messenger bag I had was actually called "The Bag Of Holding" and it lives up to it's name. There was easily 20lbs of card games in that bag. Gravity took over and I was actually air born for an instant before I hit the ground, my right elbow hit first. I was holding the the strap for the messenger bag, so my elbow is extended like an elbow drop in a wrestling move. Followed by the messenger bag, and then my legs.

I felt a weird feeling like I had the wind knocked out of me, but I could breath fine. It was an overwhelming and terrifying feeling. Almost like a pop or something right between my shoulder blades. After 20 seconds or so I was able to get up. It didn't feel like anything was wrong, my right elbow and shoulder were pretty sore considering the move I just pulled off. Elbow dropping the ice from a foot higher that I could standing up. I talked with the person that dropped me off home after work (Heather's best friend) they were of course concerned that I might have hurt myself, and I told them I felt fine, but a little sore.

When I went inside, I wanted to check if my elbow was okay. So I took off my jacked, one of the padded ones that have been popular in the last while. I was also wearing a hoodie underneath that, and a long sleeve shirt. Even with all that padding there was a cut on my elbow from the impact alone. Besides the sore elbow/shoulder I felt fine. Until 2 weeks later. When I started to feel numbness in an awkward area. Scientific name, Anus.

Quickly the numbness spread till the affected area was from the navel down. Not numb to pain, but numb to light touch sensation. If I close my eyes and someone touches my leg lightly, I can't tell. Good news, in the last few years the light touch numbness is only affecting me from mid calf down. My feet feel like if you are doing dishes, and have dish gloves on, but the water is room temperature.

I still have quite a bit of discomfort and pain in the area between my shoulder blades, and the more I use my arms the worse it gets. That area starts to go numb and the area around it will get numb as well. In the last 6 months I have been given different medication from the doctor to help manage it. I don't take any pain pills, because I would rather be in pain than have the other problem. We have tried some pain pills that don't contain problematic ingredients. (not sure if there is an issue using that word or not) none have done much. We are looking into other options.

I have been unable to earn an income because I was not able to work for the last 4-5 years due to the fall. I stayed around at my job at the video game store for over a year, during lockdown, after the fall, and would have continued working there, but I was not given much choice in that matter.

With the new studio I will have a couch in there opposite side of my computer, so if I need to, I can sit on the couch to edit videos. It's also going to look quite slick in there.

I will try to keep you all in the loop, thank you all so much for being here with us, and believing in us. After something changed my life for the worst, all of you have changed my life for the better.

Our new merch store lets us design patches, but it limits us to choose between 6 colors. The background of the Captain FaceBeard patch is empty. We also can't use the Captain FaceBeard logo, there are too many colors in the Cartoon FaceBeard and some of those colors (like the skin tone) are not represented in the color selection.
