It is a bird that measures around 33 cm and the difference between male and female is the three antennae that the male has on each side of the head. In addition, the male has black plumage, in which a golden-green shield stands out in the throat area. It also stands out for its elongated crest in the tail area and smaller ones on the sides. A bird very similar to this is the Parotia Lawes. The most interesting thing about this bird is its courtship display: like other birds of paradise, it prepares its ground by removing leaves and small branches from the dance floor. Once the female appears on the scene, she begins to change her eye color from blue to fluorescent yellow and then expands her black feather skirt.
