In September last I rode Iryo's Infinita Bistró between Barcelona Sants and Madrid Puerta de Atocha. Full meal at my seat, quiet cabin, cozy bar and the unmistakable FrecciaRossa comfort.
I also talk about how private competition changed the Madrid-Barcelona corridor: more seats, lower fares and many more passengers.

🚆 NEW VIDEO: Istanbul → Izmir the Old Way!
In this week’s video I’m traveling from Istanbul to Izmir the classic way: ferry across the Marmara + train through Western Anatolia.
It’s a scenic, relaxing and very nostalgic route, but what made it truly special was a simple act of kindness from the hotel staff in Bandırma, who helped me when everything was closed and I had no way to get lunch for the 6-hour train ride.

Tonight’s video is something special: I took the EuroNight Slovakia from Košice to Prague, travelling in a Single Deluxe sleeping cabin! Yes, with a private shower! 🌙🚆
A cosy bed, a hot shower, a sweet breakfast and an arrival 28 minutes ahead of schedule.
