Solo Travel & Life Lessons at Midlife.
I'm Nancy. After 34 years in the corporate grind, I sold (almost) everything to explore the world's wildest, quietest places with nothing but my backpack and my smartphone. This channel isn't about travel tips; it's about the lessons we learn when we stop talking and start listening to the world around us.
Expect raw storytelling, cinematic visuals shot entirely on my phone, and honest reflections on aging, solitude, and finding your own path. Because midlife isn't the end of the adventure - it's just the beginning.

🚨I’m going on vacation.
Not from travel; but from working at full capacity.
Today, as I approach my ✨𝟓𝟎𝟎𝐭𝐡 video ✨, I see that we creators can, accidentally recreate the same pressure for ourselves outside of “real life.” A deadline. A deliverable. A performance. A life of documenting, not truly living.
🎬 So I’m letting my last film breathe.
For this final month in Southeast Asia, I’m going to try to be present. Not rushing to turn every experience into a polished story.
🤷♀️ If you’re someone who feels caught between a full-time job (or full-time travel) and obligations… between responsibility and freedom… you know what I’m talking about.
❌ We finally create space for ourselves, and then feel guilty for enjoying it.
So what does this mean?
✅ I will be uploading shorts as normal on this YouTube channel.
✅ My longer-form, cinematic storytelling series will decrease to 1 to 2 videos a month.
✅ I’ll continue sharing on-the-fly updates and inspiration on Instagram, Facebook, and Threads.
Meanwhile, I’ll be studying creative editing techniques, improving my narrative, and leaning into more personal scripts for what’s next.
✔️ Sometimes growth isn’t about adding anything new. Sometimes it’s about doing less; but doing it better.
Thanks for allowing me the freedom to live out the stories before I share them.

Hello Friends 👋
I’ve been thinking about something I’ve noticed in the Philippines…
🫂 Community here feels different.
Joiner tours. Shared boats. Shared tables. Shared karaoke.
No one really does things alone if they don’t want to.
As someone who’s traveled solo for 3 years… I’m not sure I was ready for that.
💰 Filipinos, is this something you’ve always valued?
🏝️ Or do you think it’s just part of island life?
New video soon.
❤️ Nancy

No long-form video this week 💛
I’m giving myself permission to pause.
I’ve hit a little bit of writer’s block, and instead of forcing a story that isn’t ready to be told, I’m leaning into the rhythm of where I am.
It’s Tết here in Vietnam, and the energy is beautiful. Families gathered. Incense drifting through the streets. Flowers everywhere. A slower pace. A time to reflect, reset, and begin again.
So this week, I’m choosing presence over production.
I’ll still be sharing little moments, but the next long-form adventure will come when the story feels right again.
Thank you for being here: for your patience, and for letting me grow at a human pace. 🌸
Tell me, do you ever give yourself permission to pause when creativity feels forced?

"Have you ever been to tomorrow?" This simple question stopped me in my tracks. We worry so much about a future that doesn't exist yet. Watch the full conversation here 👇

I almost deleted this video yesterday.
The original thumbnail didn't do justice to the incredible story this Monk shared about losing his brother. I've updated it to better reflect the journey. If you missed it, this conversation in a Thai Monk University completely changed my perspective on grief. 🌿👇

Finding Peace After His Brother’s Death | A Monk Journey
This conversation is about grief, but it’s also about much more than loss.
We talk about learning to stay present, how the mind creates suffering by replaying the past or worrying about the future, and what daily practice actually looks like when life doesn’t go the way we hoped.
There’s humor here.
There’s honesty.
There’s a quiet steadiness that doesn’t try to fix anything.
If you’re curious about how monks think about time, patience, attention, and peace: this journey holds space for all of it.
The full conversation is now live. 🧘

✨ Most people never start.
Many start and quit.
Very few make it to 1,000,000 views. ✨
I just noticed my channel passed 1,000,000 views and I’m honestly stunned.
Thanks to everyone who’s walked a few miles of trail, road, and life with me here.
More stories coming. Always.

This one is personal.
Living in the Philippines taught me a lot about warmth, connection, and generosity; but it also forced me to confront something I’d been fighting for years: my need for solitude in a world that celebrates constant togetherness.
This video isn’t a criticism of Filipino culture. It’s an honest look at what it can feel like to be an introvert in a deeply social place, and how learning to honor quiet changed the way I show up... in travel, friendships, and life.
If you’ve ever felt drained by “mandatory fun,” or wondered why alone time feels so necessary, I think you’ll understand this one.
I’d love to hear your thoughts after you watch 👇

Quick check-in: there won’t be a video this week. I’m in between places and taking a few quiet days before the next chapter.
The next video goes live January 5; a reflective one about being an introvert in the Philippines.
Thanks for the patience and for being here.
