Founded in 1980, each year The Connecticut Gilbert & Sullivan Society performs a fully staged production of one of W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan's comic operas.. The art form they created together, nurtured by impresario Richard D’Oyly Carte at The Savoy Theatre, established the underpinnings which sustain the modern-day musical.
We greatly enjoy bringing these wonderful shows to the stage and pride ourselves in the quality of our productions, which include full sets and costuming, choreography, and a 23 piece professional orchestra.
Though we are a non-professional performing group, our productions are anything but amateur. We have some exceptionally talented and hardworking people in our cast and crew, and we take our fun seriously!
We invite you to come see us live on stage in one of our full productions. But until then, we hope you enjoy some of our full length videos and selected clips from our past shows.

"I see no objection to stoutness - in moderation." --Fairy Queen.
Did you know that the original Fairy Queen was nearly 6 feet tall?! And well-built to boot? Ours aren't quite THAT physically imposing, but their voices make up for it.
Come see Victoria Reed and Shira Flowers fill the stage with their imposing presence in Iolanthe on October 25th and 26th 2025. For tickets, go to ctgands.org/tickets

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Schancupp, who has graced our stage in such roles as Sir Joseph Porter in Pinafore, the Mikado, and, as he's seen in the Nightmare Song from our 2015 Iolanthe, the Lord Chancellor. Take a trip down memory lane and raise a glass to David. We'll miss you.

"Bunthorne. He has come over us. He has etherialized us.". But I gotta tell you that we weren't feeling so etherial while trying to cut out this stencil to paint one of the set pieces. It's going to be worth it to see the final result. The sets just might be described as etherial. Come see them, plus actor/singers, orchestra, and a cast of characters on Oct 28/29. Patience. She'll be waiting. Go to ctgands.org/tickets to get your tickets.
