We often get questions about how this content is created.
As a small team, just me and an editor, we lean on AI for certain processes that can help us but we're careful not to do what other channels have done of going the total AI Slop route.
First it starts with the content calendar, at the beginning of the year, I lined up all the episodes and seasons we will cover, then I had Claude help me with titles that work best based on search terms on YouTube so people actually view our content.
Then for each season, we may add or subtract videos as we go through based on how the season is flowing or parts I think we missed or over did.
Then for individual videos, I have years of research notes that I than have Clause sift through for me, that used to be boxes of note cards when I was writing books.
After notes are gathered, I write a basic script.
After that write, I have Claude fact check my sources and format the lines for so they flow well.
After that, I do another re-write for flow again.
Then the next part which used to take almost a hour per video is setting up my teleprompter, I have Claude doing that and it saves me about 58 minutes of that hour.
Then I do my prompter read, what I'm going for is a cinematic, mini-documentary flow of a sound of the video.
Through the read, I usually have 10-15 lines I dont like the read of and I'll let me editor know to clip it.
After that we get into the production process.
We edit with jump cuts to keep the pace up at something watchable.
We also insert b-roll, here and yes, we use AI images for this part. Its for two separate reasons, first I like the aesthetic we're going for a cinematic feel and I think we achieve that. Second, as a small team, we don't have the bandwidth to search for images to use for b-roll as well as every image creates the problem of copyright claims, its a pain and its caused us to have to pull down and re-edit videos.
This level of optimization in process, with a small team of just two of us, has allowed us to create the high level of content, true to history I'm looking for, while still keeping it watchable, giving me time to run my business an appear on other shows and keep the quality level for you, the viewer high.

In fact, I was really into family trees for the while and my mom's side of the family, we're distant relatives of James VI.

Hey All,
We’re discontinuing companion videos for a while and going back to one video a week as the larger platform appearances have slowed down and producing two videos a week for both channels is burning me out and making content suffer in quality.
Script writing and researching, even with help, is a lot of work!
