random thoughts: I recently realised i've been approaching music composition in the wrong way.

making music is not trying hard to make it sound good, that's the second part, it's how well you properly express the emotion you're going for and not overthinking it. I think realising that drastically improved my composing skills recently

for example, you shouldn't add reverb on your intrument simply because "it makes the instrument sound good", you should add it when it fits the song in your opinion.

when you add bunch of random instruments and effects without considering the vibe of the song, the song loses it's identity and it becomes weird directionless sounds

music should have intentions and contexts in it, thats what i recently thought
