We enter a new year in less than 2 days time!!

When we returned to content creation a few months ago, we returned with the existing styles and identity we had before my absence. But with the new year approaching in the next couple of days, I felt that I wanted to start 2026 with a new image.

And so, from January 1st 2026, the channel logo, banner and the small animated intro to my videos will be changing. This time, I've opted for a crimson approach with a fantastic golden badge to accompany it! Of course the channel name remains the same, this is only a cosmetic change to freshen up and prepare for the new year 🙂

I am really pleased with the results, and I hope you all approve too! A Happy New Year to you all 😊

Total War: Warhammer 40k just got announced; what are your guys' thoughts on it?

Personally, not my cup of tea, but perhaps it'll surprise me.

My fear though is that considering the negativity that came from WH3, the timing of 40k's announcement makes me wonder if they announced Medieval 3 beforehand to try and soften any predicted backlash 🤔 And if that's the case, what does that mean for how Medieval 3 will be developed?

Or perhaps I'm being too harsh and thinking too much into it, and should be little more open minded 😂

The Dawnless Days mod is a mere 1 week away from release, and I cannot be more excited! And it's got me thinking about who we should play for pur first campaign!

I've narrowed down the list to just 3 factions for this first go (all "Good" factions this time around). I know who my favourite is, but who do you think we should play as?

Hey everyone!



Well, it’s certainly been a minute, hasn’t it? I hope you have all been keeping well these last 17 months and thank you to everyone who still finds the time to re-watch an old video and leave a comment or two, it truly means a lot to me! 😊



November 2023 was the last video that was uploaded to this channel, and aside from replying to a few comments in the interim, there hasn’t been much else going on here. That being said, I am slowly starting to get that itch to pick up the mic and start creating content once again! However, if I decide to take the leap again, there are two things in particular that I need to work out:



1) Firstly, when? Not likely to be any earlier than mid-late Summer, due to upcoming commitments, but something to ponder and confirm later down the line.



2) And secondly, where? And no, I don’t mean “YouTube or Twitch”. What I actually mean is "on what channel?", and this is where the deep discussions start!



My channel has been around since March 2008, and in those 17 years (wow!) it has gone by ‘SaphirePhoenix08’, ‘Saph’ and now currently ‘Sapherz’. Thousands of videos have been uploaded (many of which no longer exist); many a campaign has been played; a network partnership happened for a spell; and a couple of breaks were thrown in for good measure. It has been through a significant amount, and the community – YOU guys – helped to make all that history happen! But part of me wonders if that history should be left alone – a virtual monument to what was built and took place here - and it also wonders whether a new beginning/age/chapter, whatever you want to call it, is needed.



And so, should I choose to begin to create content once again, I will find myself at the proverbial crossroad. Part of me cannot ignore the history of my current channel, or the community that has been built there, and starting over anew would bring its own share of challenges and hurdles. So, picking up where we left off 17 months ago, with the existing channel, of course makes the most sense. However, that other part of me cannot help but feel that a clean slate might be what’s needed - a fresh start as it were – perhaps with a fresh re-brand of the current channel, or the creation of an entirely new channel. I’m sure for some of you this might seem like an unnecessary discussion with a clear and obvious choice, but for the creators behind the mouse & keyboard weighing up such options (such as myself), it’s not so easy.



Nevertheless, as I have always done when it comes to important channel decisions (and the odd faction choice or two), I value my community’s input. Afterall, your contributions to the channels of content creators are what makes this platform as special as it is! So, this question goes out to all of you: if I do take this step later in the summer, do you think a continuation of the old is best, or do you think that a fresh new start isn’t such a bad thing?
