Just posted a new video on the ‘purse string’ suture for reducing the size of secondary intention wounds.
I wouldn’t say I use that every week (as I really prefer to close wounds if possible, as it is much nicer for patients and carers, and probably less healthcare time overall). However it can occasionally be very useful when patients want a quick procedure, or you need to remove a tumour unexpectedly to prevent it growing (and don’t have time for a graft).
Next (in due course) will be a series of techniques to close tight wounds. If you have other ideas, go ahead and comment.
