As a thank you for subscribing to my channel and interacting with my videos I have teamed up with Reolink cameras and we are giving away... NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT THREE Reolink Go PT Ultra 4k security cameras across my social media platforms.. I'll be posting a video shortly on how to enter this awesome awesome giveaway! As you all know I only work with companies I highly rated, and only promote products I value and ACTUALLY USE! As my yard is around 1 mile away from my horses and I have absolutely no electricity or WiFi at the yard this camera has been an absolute game changer, especially in winter when I can check in on my horses any time day or night without having to head down the yard (when they are stabled) I also have alerts set up so it sends me notifications when a person/ animal/ vehicle or any motion is detected... How awesome is that!! Watch this space as the video is pending shortly!!!!
We've officially upgraded from Novice to Open level Endurance GB ! This lovely certificate and medal arrived in the post today... We also managed to secure a place in the 2025 Man Vs Horse marathon!! 2025 is set to be another exciting year for Billy & I!!!
What a weekend! Up at the crack of dawn Saturday morning, horses sorted and hitting the road for 8am in the Disco... 4 hours later we reach our destination - the Endurance GB AGM and awards night. Great to see so many people in attendance on the day and lots of important points raised, discussed and voted on. By 4pm the meeting closed and it was off to check in and relax before the awards ceremony started at 7pm.
It was lovely to see so many people and the food was delicious, especially considering they catered for so many π€€
Awards were being handed out in between courses and eventually they came to the STAGBI award, for the standardbred with the highest points. Now not for one moment did I consider Billy and I would have achieved anything in this class. We've had an incredible first season, but due to issues with getting his HR down our points were certainly not what they could have been, so when HILLTOP RECON was announced as 3rd I was absolutely blown away. My beautiful, willing little horse, who came with a napping problem, has in his first season(and mine)been placed in a national award! Our friend and(friendly) competition Anita + Frazzle, who we rode with several times over the season came in second place! We just couldn't ask for more from these wonderful horses, they put their hearts into the rides and we have just had the absolute best time competing, traveling all over the country in both England and Wales with our trusty steeds to experience some of the most beautiful places you can possibly imagine.
Anyway enough of the soppy post π€£ we went on to have a fantastic night of dancing, yet despite the late night we equestrian women were up, bright as a button and down for breakfast before 8 π€£ venturing outside to the car for the first time in over 24 hours it was a relief to breath the fresh air, but we quickly realized on the journey back that there has been quite the storm overnight, with the most horrendous flooding I'd ever seen. Countless 'Road Closed' signs in place due to the flood water, yet this did not deter us, we simply lifted the car suspension and drove straight through! Sadly this wasn't the case for Hayley and Emma who came separately, and had to keep turning back π
Certainly a weekend to remember for so many reasons, now roll on the 2025 endurance season, where Billy and I will be upgraded to Open and can do the bigger distances which I think will be much better suited to him, because 25 miles doesn't tire him out π€£
With the endurance season over and Billy having had a short rest we are currently riding once a week on the weekends with various different friends! I plan to post lots of these rides, but occasionally I forget to take the GoPro! π
Yesterday Billy had a fresh set of shoes, which meant we had to head out for a spin afterwards... Typically it started raining as soon as we headed out with the trailerπ§οΈ Regardless, we had a great ride with our friends Hayley & Olly!
Hello YouTubers! Please let me know in the comments below what sort of videos you'd like me to post? Vlogs, unedited rides, more dog content.. let me know and I'll do my best to get it posted! These pictures are from Sunday, I was hungover after attending a wedding, so when I'd sobered up Billy and I headed out into the hills to recce an endurance ride route which is happening in a few weeks.. it was eventful to say the least and I must admit I cried more than a few times.. my old horse Celt has given me PTSD riding near sheer drops π
Cirencester! Not going to lie, I arrived stating to Bethan my best friend I wouldn't be back after a hellish drive with Billy and I sat in traffic for a good 30 mins, crawling along up a hill which resulted in my car overheating and my clutch slipping π³
Anyway, 4 + hours later we made it.
The following morning after a few ciders I felt no worse for wear and the nerves set in... We vetted with a respectable HR mid 50s and we were good to go! Big thank you to James and Lauren (they were on their second day 40km ride) for letting me tag along at the start, as we know Billy has previously had a bit of a napping issue and I always worry about setting off. Anyway, my fears were unfounded, he set off perfectly and boy did he go! 41km covered at 14.2kmph! The ride was spectacular. It was incredibly well marked and we absolutely loved every second of it, Billy and Iggy went beautifully together and it was great to ride the whole route together like we did at Talybont! I got Billy's HR down to 50 at the trailer but he just wouldn't settle in the vetting at the finish so we scraped a pass with 64 π A pass is a pass and I am absolutely over the moon with that!
The following morning we vetted again and got back out on course to do the 30km route. We were fortunate enough to ride the first half with Anita and Frazzle and both horses went well together, being two pacers with racing in their blood I'm sure they are a sight to behold on the ground when we let them have the rein! At CP4 it was time to say goodbye and I worried Billy would decide to throw a wobbly here parting ways, but it wasn't to be, as Anita turned right we turned left and Billy simply picked up the pace and off we went, not seeing another horse for miles! We completed this distance at 13.3kmph with plenty left in the tank and he got a slightly better HR of 62. It also turns out we won our class that day!
I simply cannot put into words how this horse makes me feel. I'm welling up reliving the ride in my head and I just feel such pride and admiration for the horse he has become in the short time I've had him. I have so much footage from the weekend I will get some long form content posted in the next few days... I hope you enjoy!
So, the question is... Will we be back next year? I'll let you figure that one out π

Anyone looking to buy a standardbred one I owned some years ago is currently up for sale. With a confident rider and consistency she'll hack alone in no time. She was absolutely foot perfect when I had her π€©
