Dr. Stone artist Boichi recently shared his thoughts on manga readers who say they can’t afford to buy manga.
His point was surprisingly balanced.
He said creators also struggle financially, and manga can’t continue if nobody supports it. But he also admitted that the bigger problem is access officially licensed manga can be too expensive or simply unavailable in many countries.
So here’s the real question:
When fans pirate manga, is it mainly because they don’t want to pay or because the legal options still aren’t good enough?

Do you think a manga can still become popular if fans discover it years late?Or does timing matter more than quality?

HiAnime appears to be permanently discontinued after being offline for roughly 80 days.
For a lot of anime fans, this is not just about one site disappearing. It brings back the bigger debate:
If legal anime streaming was easier, cheaper, and less fragmented, would piracy still be this popular?
Some fans will say piracy hurts the industry. Others will say the industry created the problem by making access too complicated.
What do you think?
